Some companies, such as Marriott, have developed business models involving third parties deal with its property, which has allowed it to bring cost

6、s down. Overall, the likelihood of new entrants is moderate. FIVE FORCES ANALYSIS Russia - Hotels selling off assets has allowed large competitors to raise capital and invest in expanded operations, which again intensifies the competitive nature of the industry. The Russian industry grew healthily t

7、hrough the global recession period and is expected to continue to post healthy growth rates which may ease competition somewhat. Overall, rivalry in the industry is moderate. LEADING COMPANIES Russia - Hotels mid-scale to upscale hotels under the brand names, Novotel, Pullman, Mercure, Grand Mercure

8、, Adagio, MGallery and Thalassa sea economy hotels under All Seasons and Ibis; and the lower end of the pyramid budget hotels under the brand names, Motel 6, Etap, hotelF1 and Studio6. In FY2010, Accor operated 1,424 hotels in France; 934 hotels in rest of Europe; 1,107 hotels in North America; 187

Out of these 4,229 hotels, 24% were franchised, 17% were owned, 19% were on fixed rent lease, 18% were on variable rent lease and 22% were on management contract. The groups other businesses include the restaurant business. Accor offers a full

10、 range of gourmet dining activities through its subsidiary, Lenotre. The subsidiary is the ambassador of French gourmet foods around the world with 13 boutiques in Paris, 2 on the Cote dAzur and 29 in other countries.
