1、 ENGINEERING STANDARDS Material Specification Plastics GMP.TES.008 Thermoplastic Elastomer - Styrene Block Copolymer, Shore A87, 100 MPa Flexural Modulus, Interior, Paintable 1 Scope This specification covers the properties of a black, non-UV stabilized thermoplastic elastomer con- sisting of polypr

2、opylene and SEBS (sty- rene/ethylene/butylene/styrene) rubber for interior applications. 1.1 Typical Application. Typical applications in- clude the following: painted airbag cover 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards are ap- plicable unless otherwise specified. 2.1 External Standar

Important physi- cal, mechanical and thermal properties that char- acterize the material are summariz

4、ed in charts.The color shall be specified on drawings, in material specifications and otherwise. 3.2 Requirements on Test Specimens. Tests shall be conducted using the latest issue of the test methods indicated. Suitable precautions should be taken to ensure that applicable safe limits are not excee

5、ded when conducting test procedures, proc- esses, and/or handling the materials required by this specification. Test specimen shall be die cut from fan gated in- jection molded plaques having a nominal thickness of 2.0 0.2 mm. Die cut specimens are to be tested with the long axis of the test specime

6、n per- pendicular to the direction of flow. Plaque dimen- sions must be sufficient to permit this. Tests shall be conducted 40 h minimum after molding and immediately following a conditioning period of 24 h minimum at 22 3C and 50 6% RH unless otherwise specified. All tests shall be performed on una

7、nnealed specimens. In addition, tests specified at temperatures below or above 22 3C shall be conducted at the specified tem- perature using specimens conditioned at the speci- fied temperature for 4 h minimum. The minimum values specified in the property ta- bles must be met by test specimens in na

8、tural, black or in a standard sampled color if natural or black are not available. For colored grades where pigment and additive systems (e.g. stabilizer) are used, the impact values shall not decrease any- more than 10% from the specified minimum value. 3.3 Compound Properties.
