The data supplied and the display or gauge functions performed are vehicle application dependent and the responsibility of Platform. This indication may be based on either an oil pressure sensor or a low oil pressure switch. When an oil pressure display is required by Platform, Powertrain shall provide oil pressure

13、sensor information via serial data. 3.2 Hardware Overview. The hardware for the display or gauge functions will vary with application as one of the means to provide a specific vehicle character. Not all vehicles will use the same display or gauge information. Powertrain shall provide Platform a hard

A single coolant temperature sensor shall be used for both displays and Powertrain controls. This is an OBD r

When required by Platform for an oil pressure display or gage function, Powertrain shall provide input processing for an engine oil pressure sensor. Powertrain shall always provide either an oil pressure sensor or a low oil pressure switch. When requ

All Platforms shall provide the following standard telltales or Driver Information Center messages: 1. Service Engine Soon (MIL) 2. Low Engine Oil Pressur

Glow Plug (Diesel Powertrains Only) In addition, platforms required to meet OBD requirements must provide the following standard telltales or Driver Information Center messages

18、: 1. Engine Hot Coolant telltale or Coolant Gauge with red zone (required with fuel enrichment). Platform shall illuminate the Engine Hot Coolant telltale or drive the coolant gauge into the red zone when the serial data signal Engine Hot Fuel Enrichment Indication On = “True” (see section 4.2.2.1).

19、 Platform shall display via the DIC message (when available) “Engine Hot / Idle Engine“. 2. When the serial data signal Engine Hot / Stop Engine Indication On = “True“, Platform shall display via the DIC message (when available) “Engine Hot / Stop Engine“ (see section 4.2.2.2). In this condition, th

Platform shall perform all required bulb checks for these standard indicators with the following exceptions: If a platform implements a MIL

If a platform controls the MIL or Glow Plug indicator via discrete outputs of the ECM, then the ECM is responsible for the bulb check(s). If hardwire controlled MIL is used on a platform it is recommended t

22、hat the MIL indicator be implemented in a way that minimizes or isolates the Platform electronics required for its operation. For serial data MIL control refer to additional requirements specified in GMW8762 Section 4 PPEI GMLAN Signal and Definitions and Framing for the GMLAN signal Engine Emission

23、s Related Malfunction Indication Request. It is recommended, but not required, that the platform provide some type of audible indication in coordination with the reduced engine power display described above. Some Powertrains require Platform to provide a “Stop Engine” indication when the engine temp

All Powertrains shall feature an engine oil life monitor. The reset method shall be based on a throttle pedal stomp maneuver detected by the

Platform shall provide input signal processing for this switch and transmit the reset command to Powertrain via the serial data link. The standard engine oil life monitor algorithm shall accommodate both reset m

The use of these sensors on any given vehicle is mutually exclusive (i.e., a particular vehicle can not have both a PWM oil level sensor and a discrete low oil level sensor). Powertrain may use a single interface
