1、 ENGINEERING STANDARDS Material Specification Plastics GMP.PC.018R Polycarbonate General Purpose, Recycled, ISO Specifications 1 Scope This specification covers the properties of a general-purpose black injection molding grade polycarbonate containing a minimum of 25% post-consumer recycled polycarb
2、onate 1.1 Material Description. 1.1.1 Paintability. Approved paint systems that can be used on this material are listed in the GM Approved Paint On Plastics Systems (GM APOPS) database. 1.2 Symbol. The material abbreviation according to ISO 11469 is PC. 1.3 Typical Application. Typical applications

4、002M GMW3059 GMW3001 GMW3221 3 Requirements Important physical, mechanical and thermal properties that characterize the material are summarized in charts. The color shall be specified on drawings, in material specifications and otherwise. 3.1 Requirements on Delivery. Material supplier must certify
5、molding compound properties to the specific GM Test sampling Plan approved for their material. 3.1.1 Requirements on Test Specimens. Unless otherwise specified, injection molding of test specimens shall be accomplished per ISO 294 with the conditions for injection molding from ISO 7391-2. Also, unle
6、ss otherwise specified, test methods and specimen dimensions are to be in accordance with ISO 10350-1. Test shall be conducted 40 hours minimum after molding and immediately following a conditioning period of 24 hours minimum at conditions per GMW3221, Code A. All tests shall be performed on unannea
7、led specimens. In addition, tests specified at temperatures below or above 22 3 C shall be conducted at the specified temperature using specimens conditioned at the specified temperature for 4 h minimum. The minimum values specified in the property tables must be met by test specimens in natural, bl
8、ack, or in a standard sampled color if natural or black are not available. For colored grades where other pigment and additive systems (e.g. stabilizer) are used, the impact values shall not decrease more than 10% from the specified minimum value. 3.2 Chemical Requirements. All parts manufactured fr
9、om molding compounds shall be resistant to the media they contact, such as aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, fuels, lubricants, oils, greases and alcohols, at their places of use. 16、 with the requirements of GMW3059, Restricted and Reportable Substances for Parts. 6 Approved Sources Engineering qualification of an approved source is required for this specification. Only sources listed in the GM Materials File (i.e., MATSPC) under this specification number have been qualified by
17、 engineering as meeting the requirements of this specification. 7 Coding System This material specification shall be referenced in other documents, drawings, VTS, CTS, etc. as follows: GMP.PC.018R, POLYCARBONATE-GENERAL PURPOSE, RECYLCED 8 Release and Revisions 8.1 Release.
