It was adopted by that organization from IEC Publication 598-2-5 (1979) edition 1 and Amendment No. 1 (1987), and amendment No. 2 (1993) which is identical with the European Standard. This British Standard supersedes BS 4533-102.5:

The foreword and preface of IEC Publication 598-2-5 (1979) edition 1 and the preface of Amendment No. 1 (1987), which do not form part of the text of EN 60598-2-5, have been quoted in National appendix NA. Annexes designated “normative” are part of the body of the standard.

10、 Annexes designated “informative” are given for information only. National appendices are designated “informative”. In 5.1, 5.2, 5.12 and 5.13 where the words “section of Part 2 of IEC Publication 598”, “section of Part 2” and “section of Publication 598-2” appear they should be read as “section of

The foreword of the EN amendment A2 makes reference to “date of withdrawal (dow) of conflicting national standards” as “1995-03-01”. In this case the relevant natio

15、nal standard is BS 4533-102.5 but the “dow” relates only to those parts of the British Standard subject to Amendment No. 1. Certificates and marks will not be awarded after this date with respect to the British Standard not incorporating Amendment No. 1. They will be awarded with respect only to the

However, such certificates and marks already awarded with respect to the British Standard not incorporating Amendment No. 1 may continue to apply for production until 2000-03-01. It is to be read in conjunction

35、 with those sections of Part 1 to which reference is made. 5.2 General test requirements The provisions of Section 0 of Publication 598-1 apply. The tests described in each appropriate section of Part 1 shall be carried out in the order listed in this section of Part 2. 5.3 Definitions For the purpo

38、visions of Section 2 of Publication 598-1. 5.5 Marking The provisions of Section 3 of Publication 598-1 apply. Where necessary to ensure proper use and maintenance, the following additional particulars shall also be marked on the floodlight or otherwise made available to the purchaser: a) Operating

39、position, if not universal. b) Weight and overall dimensions of the floodlight. c) Maximum projected area of the floodlight. d) Range of mounting heights. e) Suitability for use indoors. 5.6 Construction The provisions of Section 4 of Publication 598-1 apply together with the requirements of Sub-cla

40、uses 5.6.1 to 5.6.6. 5.6.1 Floodlights for use outdoors shall have protection against the ingress of moisture at least equivalent to IP X3. 5.6.2 Lampholder brackets and lamp supports where used shall withstand normal usage throughout the life of the floodlight. They shall accept and retain lamps wh

41、ich are within the dimensional tolerances stated in the appropriate IEC publication where applicable, and locate the lamp or lamps in the designed relationship to the optical control devices in the floodlight. 5.6.3 When provision is made for alternative sizes of lamps or light centre positions, the

42、 adjusting means shall be positive and firmly retained in the selected position. 5.6.4 Refractors, reflectors or any other light controlling components shall be so marked or constructed that they can be fitted or replaced only in the correct relationship to the light source. 5.6.5 The means for atta

43、ching the floodlight to its support shall be appropriate to the weight of the floodlight. For floodlights for use above ground level outdoors, the connection shall withstand wind speeds of 150 km/h on the projected surface of the floodlight assembly without undue deflection. Fixings which carry the

44、weight of the floodlight and internal accessories shall be provided with appropriate means to prevent the dislodgement of any part of the floodlight by vibration, either in service or during maintenance. Parts of floodlights for mounting heights 3 m or higher which are fixed other than with at least

45、 two devices, for example, screws or equivalent means of sufficient strength, shall have such extra protection as to prevent those parts falling and endangering persons, animals and surroundings, if a fixing device fails under normal conditions. The points of attachment which allow the floodlight to

Compliance shall be checked by inspection and, for floodlights for use above ground level outdoors, by the additional test of sub-clause 5.6.5.1. 5.6.5.1 The floodlight is mounted with its larges

47、t projected area as viewed in elevation lying in the horizontal plane, and with the means of attachment secured in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations. 48、1999 For floodlights for use above ground level outdoors, a constant evenly distributed load is applied for 10 in on the floodlight using sand-bags providing 2.4 kN per square metre of floodlight projected area. The floodlight is then turned 180, in the vertical plane, about the point of attachment
