29、ced by roll threading and the body is not undercut, the diameter of the unthreaded portion of the body adjacent to the shoulder may be reduced to the minimum pitch diameter. External threads shall be chamfered to the diameter of abut- ting surfaces or to diameters specified to produce a length of ch

30、amfered or partial thread ecuivalent to .?5 to 1.25 times the pitch of the thread, rounded to a three-place decimal. Internal threads shall be countersunk 90“ included angle in accordance with the tabulated dimensions. Pipe Threads: Pipe threads, unless there is specific auth- orization to the contr

31、ary, shall conforn with the Dryseal American Standard Taper Pipe Thread (NPTF). See Dryseal Pipe Threads in Section X. The length of full form external pipe thread shall not be shorter than L2 plus one pitch (thread). Where external pipe threads are produced by roll threading, the diameter of the un

32、threaded portion of the body adjacent to the shoulder may be reduced to the E2 pitch diameter. Due to design limitations the tap drill depth for internal pipe threads specified in the tables is less than the stan- dard Dryseal practice. The depth specified necessitates the use of bottouing taps to r

33、oduce full form thread lengths conforming with the (NPTFP standard. Although it is the consensus of manufacturers and users that trouble free assembly and pressure-tight joints can best be assured by the use of full length (NPPF) pipe threads, some installations may justify the use of Dryseal SAE Sh

34、ort Taper Pipe Threads. Special fittings utilizing Dryseal PTF-SAE short pipe threads; having external thread shoulder lengths, internal thread tap drill depths, and overall or end to center lengths reduced in accordance with the reduction in thread length; shall be available under separate part num

35、ber as requested by the purchaser. The length of full form ex- ternal thread shall not be shorter than the L2 length. 42、 with a light o i l film. Zinc Dichromate on steel: GM 4342-M, Code 20D24, zinc plating and subsequent chromate treatment. It iequires a plating thickness of .O002 inch minimum and 24 hours salt spray without white corrosion. Cadmium or zinc plating on brass: GM 4252-M, Code O, speci- fication shall

43、 apply. It requires a flash deposit of cadmium or zinc for coloring or protection in transit and storage. Cadmium and zinc plating on steel: As indicated by part number; cadmium or zinc optional, GM 4252-M; cadmium only, GM 4341-M; or zinc only, GM 4342-M; Code 20, specification shall apply. Each re

44、quires a plating thickness of .O002 inch minimum and 32 hours salt spray.
