8、(E) Cone proof load test on nuts 1 Scope This international Standard specifies the properties of - - - nuts with nominal thread diameter, d, from 5 mm up to and including 39 mm, product grades A and B, property classes 8 to 12, under the conditions of the cone proof load test. 2 Normative references

The conical washer shall bear against a nut face which is flat and normal
16、 to the nut axis. Apply the specified cone proof load (see clause 6) to the nut. The speed of testing, as determined with a free- running cross-head, shall not exceed 3 mm/min. The cone proof load shall be retained for 10 s. 6 Criteria The nut shall support the proof load specified in IS0 898-2 or I
17、S0 898-6, as applicable, without stripping or rupture.
