9、rnational sizes 3 cm x 3 cm, 5 cm x 5 cm and 7 cm x 7 cm, and of the title Strip. 3.1 slide: The complete assembly comprising an image (on either glass or film carrier), a suitable mask and protection, all rigidly mounted for Optical projection by transmitted light. lt does not apply to slides for s
10、pecialized use, for example in television. 3.2 slide mount: The means for holding rigidly together the image carrier and its supporting or protecting covers and mask. lt may consist of flexible adhesive binding, or rigid holders This International Standard is intended to facilitate the made of cardb

16、de mount when the slide is held so that the image is in the correct Position for direct viewing and the text is upright. The Strip may extend onto the upper edge of the slide, but not over onto the back. There shall be no other light-coloured Strips along the margin or edges of the slide. 5.2 Thickn
17、ess The thickness of the slide for each nominal size shall comply with the value given in the table. 5.3 Squareness Adjacent sides of the slide mount shall be mutually at right angles within a tolerante of + Io. 5.4 Picture area The nominal dimensions of the picture areas used with the listed nomina
18、l sizes are given in the table. In each case, the pic- ture area shall be centrally located in the mask aperture. 5.5 Mask aperture The dimensions of the mask apertures for the various picture areas shall comply with the values given in the table. The mask aperture shall be horizontally and vertical
19、ly centred on the slide with the distances from the opposite edges of the slide to the adjacent edges of the mask aperture differing by not more than 0,5 mm. The corners of the mask aperture shall be at right angles within a tolerante of + l”. NOTE - The title Strip may also be used as a Position in
20、dicator, but the use of additional Position indicators is not excluded. 5 Dimensions 5.1 Overall size The slide, including the image carrier, mask, slide mount and Position indicator when used, shall conform, for each nominal size, to the Overall dimensions shown in the table. 21、at the corners of the slide mount be rounded to a radius of not more than 2,5 mm and that the peripheral edgeq of the slide mount shall be sharp or iounded to a radius of not more than 0,3 mm.
