5、a system of designation for plasticized thermoplastic material which may be used as the basis for specifications. 1.2 The types of PVC-P plastics are differentiated from each other by a classification system based on appropriate levels of the designatory properties a) Shore hardness b) density c) to

6、rsional-stiffness temperature at 300 MPa and on information about physical form, intended application and/or method of processing, important properties, additives and colorants. 1.3 This part of IS0 2898 is applicable to all plasticized compositions of homopolymers and copolymers that con- tain at l

7、east 50 % (m/m) of vinyl chloride. It is also applicable to plasticized compositions containing chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride) and to plasticized compositions containing blends of one or more of the above-mentioned poly- mers, provided that the total amount of these polymers represents at least 50

8、 % (m/m) of the polymer content of the composition. This part of IS0 2898 applies to materials ready for normal use in the form of powder (dry blends), granules or pel- lets, unmodified or modified by colorants, additives, fillers, etc. This part of IS0 2898 does not apply to cellular plastics or to

9、 paste compositions (plastisols). 1.4 It is not intended to imply that materials having the same designation give necessarily the same performance. This part of IS0 2898 does not provide engineering data, performance data or data on processing conditions which may be required to specify a material f

10、or a particular application and/or method of processing. If such additional properties are required, they shall be determined in accordance with the test methods specified in part 2 of this International Standard, if suitable. 1.5 In order to specify a thermoplastic material for a particular applica

11、tion or to ensure reproducible processing, additional requirements may be given in data block 5 (see clause 3, first paragraph). IS0 2 Normative references The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this part of IS0 2898. At the time of

12、 publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this part of IS0 2898 are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards indicated below. 14、 specimens and determination of properties. 3 Designation and specification system The designation and specification system for thermoplastics is based on the following standardized pattern: Description block (optional) Designation Identity block international Individual-item block Standard Data Dat

15、a Data Data Data Number block block block block block block 1 2 3 4 5 The designation consists of an optional description block, reading “Thermoplastics”, and an identity block compris- ing the International Standard number and an individual-item block. For unambiguous coding, the individual-item bl

16、ock is subdivided into 5 data blocks comprising the following information: Data block 1: Identification of the plastic by its symbol PVC-P in accordance with IS0 1043-I and information about the polymerization process or the composition of the polymer. Data block 2: Position 1: Intended application

17、or method of processing (see 3.2). Positions 2 to 8: Important properties, additives and supplementary information (see 3.2) Data block 3: Designatory properties (see 3.3). Data block 4: Fillers or reinforcing materials and their nominal content (not included in this part of IS0 2898). Data block 5:

18、 For the purpose of specifications, a fifth data block may be added containing additional infor- mation. The first character of the individual-item block shall be a hyphen. The data blocks shall be separated from each other by commas. If a data block is not used, this shall be indicated by doubling

19、the separation sign, i.e. by two commas (,I. 3.1 Data block 1 In this data block, after the hyphen, plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) plastics are identified by the symbol PVC-P, in accordance with IS0 1043-I. 1) To be published. 20、98-2:1989) 2 0 IS0 IS0 2898-1:1996(E) 3.2 Data block 2 In this data block, information about intended application and/or method of processing is given in position 1 and in- formation about important properties, additives and colour in positions 2 to 8. The code-letters used are specified in table I.

21、 If information is presented in positions 2 to 8 and no specific information is given in position 1, the letter X shall be inserted in position 1. Table 1 - Code-letters used in data block 2 3.3 Data block 3 In this data block, the Shore hardness is represented by a 2-figure code number (see 3.3.11,

22、 the range of density by a 2-figure code number (see 3.3.2) and the range of torsional-stiffness temperature at 300 MPa by a 2-figure code- number (see 3.3.3). The code numbers are separated from each other by hyphens. If a property value falls on or near a range limit, the manufacturer shall state

23、which range will designate the ma- terial. If subsequent individual test values lie on, or on either side of, the limit, because of manufacturing toler- ances, the designation is not affected. NOTE 1 Not all combinations of the values of designatory properties are provided in currently available pol

24、ymers. 3.3.1 Shore hardness The Shore A or D hardness shall be determined in accordance with IS0 2898-2 The value of the Shore hardness is represented by a 2-figure code-number as specified in table 2. The scale used is indicated by a single code-letter (A or D) immediately preceding the code-number

25、 indicating the hardness value. 3 0 I.SO IS0 289&1:1996(E) 3.3.2 Density The density shall be determined in accordance with IS0 2898-Z. The possible values of density are divided into 17 ranges, each represented by a 2-figure code-number as specified in table 2. 3.3.3 Torsional-stiffness temperature

26、 at 300 MPa The torsional-stiffness temperature at 300 MPa shall be determined in accordance with IS0 2898-2. The possible values of the torsional-stiffness temperature at 300 MPa are divided into 7 ranges, each represented by a 2-figure code-number as specified in table 2. Table 2 - Code-numbers us
