3、ation of national Standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Esch member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that commit
4、tee. International organizations, govern- mental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take patt in the work. Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for approval before their acceptance as International Standards by the ISO Cou
5、ncil. They are approved in accordance with ISO procedures requiring at least 75 % approval by the member bodies voting. International Standard ISO 6309 was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 21, Equipment for fire protection and fire flghtipg. Users should note that all International Standards u
6、ndergo revision from time to time and that any reference made herein to any other International Standard implies its latest edition, unless otherwise stated. Its field of applicati
13、on extends, as widely as possible, to all situations in which it is necessary, or desirable, to indicate publicly the location and/or the nature of a) means of giving warning of fire and manual controls; b) means of escape from fire; c) means of fire-fighting; d) means of preventing fire spreading;
14、e) areas or materials of special fire risk. In each tabl
16、e, the two languages are presented horizontally, the English preceding the French. The shape and colour of the safety signs correspond to the specifications in ISO 3461, ISO 3864 and ISO 4196.
