、IHS -,-,- JAPANESE INDUSTRIAL STANDARD JIS B 7026 : 1997 Watches and clocks- Indication of battery life 1 This Japanese Industrial Standard covers watches and clocks employing primary batteries as the power supply and specifies the procedures for obtaining the battery life and the method for indicat

、ion thereof, when the indication of life of bat- tery for watches and clocks is carried out. Scope Remarks 1 This Standard is intended to serve as a guideline for correct indica- tion of life of battery for watches and clocks by the manufacturer or selling agency. 2 This is not applied to the watche

、s and clocks stated below. (1) (2) Ones for special use such as timers and stopwatches. Clocks built in other products. 2 Definitions For the purpose of this Standard, the following principal defini- tions apply: (i) clock battery life (L) The period from the instant when a certain battery is built

、in a clock (including watch) and start to drive it to the instant when the clock stops or the reading of liquid crystal indication becomes impossible under the standard service conditions. This definition includes such cases that the clock stops or the liquid crystal indication becomes non-readable

、due to operation of the additional function stated in 4.2 and that the additional function stated in 4.2 is not operated. (2) prescribed battery This means the battery which is not yet used, specified by the manufacturer or selling agency in the instruction manual or the like, and stored at a temper

、ature not exceeding 28 “C without exposure to direct sun- shine and high temperature and high humidity. (3) standard service conditions The conditions under which majority of users use clocks everyday. The service conditions of additional function are within the extent of indication specified in 4.2

、. (4) average value of clock battery life ( E ) life distribution estimated from the test data on clocks and batteries. The average value of clock battery (5) minimum value of clock battery life (Lmin) Such a value on the distribu- tion curve that 99.7 % of clocks sampled have longer clock battery l

、 1997 3 Procedure of obtaining clock battery life The clock mined by the capacity and self discharge rate of battery built rent consumption of clock, the frequency of use of additional battery life is deter- in the clock, the cur- functions, and so on. The values of parameters which determine the ba

Therefore these values of a battery itself built in a clock can not be obtained directly, and estimated from the test data

、 of batteries of the same type. Accordingly, the distribution of clock battery life is estimated by the method stated below from the test data of clocks and batteries. (i) Method by use of calculation formula When tained by calculation, the average value and the individual parameter on the clock and
