Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the woodruff keyseat milling cutters used for working key ways corresponding to those keys with nominal sizes of 2.5 x 10 to 12 x 80 mm specified in JIS B 1302, hereafter refe
5、rred to as the “milling cutters“, 2. Definition The meanings of the main terms used in this Standard shall be as specified in JIS B 0172. 3. Classification Milling cutters shall be classified into the two types of shank type and bore type by outside diameters. 4. Shapes and Dimensions The shapes and

16、ote (1) The use of system B shall be avoided as far as possible. Remarks 1. 2. 3. The nominal sizes in the table correspond to the nominal sizes of woodruff keys. The permissible deviations for b and are based on JIS B 0401. The reference dimension and permissible deviation for key ways shall confor
17、m to JIS B 4201. 5. Quality 5.1 Appearance In their appearance, milling cutters shall be free from such defects as macrostreak flaws, cracks, harmful burrs, cuts, rust, and defective joining, and have an excellent finish. 5.2 Surface Roughness When tested according to 7.1, the surface roughness of t
18、he cutting part of milling cutters shall conform to 1.6 a (6.3 S) specified in - _ JIS B 0601. 5.3 Hardness When tested according to 7.2, the hardness of the cutting part of milling cutters shall be not lower than HRC 63 (HV 772), and the shank shall be subjected to a suitable heat treatment to prev
19、ent harmful deformation or damage. 5.4 Runout When tested according to 7.3, the runouts of the peripheral cut- ting edge and of the side surface shall satisfy the tolerance requirements specified in Fig. 1. 5.5 Sharpness Milling cutters shall have an excellent sharpness. Material The material of the cutting part of milling cutters shall conform to SKH 51 specified in JIS G 4403 or be a material equivalent or superior thereto in per- f ormance. The material of the
22、shank of milling cutters whose cutting part and shank are made of different materials shall conform to S 55 C specified in JIS G 4051 or be equivalent or superior thereto in performance. 7. Testing Methods 7.1 Surface Roughness The surface roughness of milling cutters shall be measured by visual com
23、parison with the standard roughness specimens specified in JIS B 0659. 7.2 Hardness The hardness of the cutting part of milling cutters shall be measured according to the measuring method specified in JIS Z 2245 using the tester specified in JIS B 7726. However, where measurement by a Rockwell hard-
24、 ness tester is impossible, it may be performed by the specified in JIS Z 2251 using the tester specified in JIS B 7734. 0 Where measurement by testers is difficult, a comparison measurement by means of files may be applied. 7.3 Runout be performed as follows: The runout of the peripheral cutting ed
25、ge of milling cutters shall In the case of the shank type, support the milling cutter by a vee block placed on a precision surface plate, as shown in Fig. 2, or in the case of the bore type, support it as shown in Fig. 3, and apply dial gauges perpendicularly to the peripheral cutting edge and the s
26、ide surfaces and read the pointer moving of the dial gauges while rotating the milling cutter toward the arrowed direction. Inspection Milling cutters shall be inspected for shape and dimensions, appearance, surf ace roughness, hardness, runout, and sharpness, and shall comply with the specifications of 4. and 5.1 to 5.5 for the respective inspection items. 9. 30、ethod of Designation of Products Milling cutters shall be designated by the number or title of this Standard, nominal size, and the material symbol() for the cutting part.
