22、er defects harmful to use, and shall have a good level of finishing. 10x300 7.2 Function Nominal ball size 114 11/32 13/32 7.2.1 Torsional strength For the torsional strength, when tested by the method of 8.1, the blade-to-handle connection shall be secure, and there shall be no harmful chip or twis
23、t on the tip and no other harmful defect on each part. 15/32 7.2.2 Hardness The hardness over 5 mm from the tip end, when tested by the method of 8.2, shall be at least 52HRC. 7.2.3 Magnetic property Magnetic drivers, when tested by clause 8.3, shall sat- isfy the requirements given in Table 4. 8 Te
24、st method 8.1 Torsional strength For the torsional strength test of screwdrivers, engag- ing the tip into a slot of test bar given in Table 3, a torsional moment given in Table 3 shall be applied onto the handle. 26、e hardness of screwdrivers shall be measured by the test method 8.3 Magnetic property For the magnetic property, the screwdriver, held verti- cally, shall be capable of putting up a steel ball, specified in JIS B 1501, given in Table 4. 42、m steel which when suitably heat- treated, satisfies the mechanical requirements and torque tests (see 6.2 and 7 . 1 ) . . . . 6 Quality 6 . 1 Appearance The material, shape and finish of the handle shall ensure use under normal conditions. The handle and the blade shall not be rough nor have faults
43、 which could cause accidents during use of the screwdriver. 6.2 Hardness Screwdriver blades shall be heat-treated along their full length. They shall have a minimum hardness of 50HRC over at least the length 3 x b from the tip of the blade. 6.3 Torsional strength For the torsional strength, when tes
44、ted by the method of 7.1, the blade-to-handle connection shall be secure, and there shall not be any harmful chip or permanent twist on the tip or any other defect harmful on the whole assembly. 7 Test method 7 . 1 Torque test 7 . 1 . 1 Torsional strength of blade Special equipment shall be used for
45、 the torque test. The test torque on the blade shall be progressively and steadily applied and increased to the indicated test torque M or until the blade breaks. The screwdriver tip shall sit fully in the test bar. Bending moments shall not arise during testing. The test bar (see Annex Fig. 4) shal
46、l have hardness at least 64HRC and have strength enough not to be deformed during test.
