Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies, based on JIS C 5962, F O9 type connectors for optical fiber cords (hereafter referre

5、d to as ffoptical connectorsff) which are applicable to the silica glass multimode optical fibers and multicomponent multimode optical fibers that are mainly used in an apparatus, device and precinct, and between floors. Remarks 1. F O9 type optical connectors are employing engagement system of bayo

6、net mechanism and also the following systems: (1) Optical engagement system: butt joint system (2) Mechanical engagement system: plug - adapter - plug system (3) Optical fiber array system: ferrule system (outside diameter $ I 2.5 mm) 2. The units and numerical values given in 1 in this Standard are

7、 based on the traditional unit system and are currently the criteria in force. Informative Reference: Care shall be taken that there are the following registration of designs. Definition For the main terms used in this Standard the definitions in JIS C 5962 apply, and the rest of the terms shall be as foll

9、ows: bayonet mechanism Such a mechanism that the plug and adapter are engaged and locked when the plug is inserted into the adapter then the connecting sleeve attached to the plug is turned through a pre- determined angle, and they are separated when the connecting sleeve is turned reversely to rele

10、ase the lock and then pulled.
