4、 Grinding Wheels B 4051-1988 This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the standards of the recommendation for use and selection of the grinding wheels ( 3), hereinafter referred to as the “wheels“, which are mainly used for wet grinding under ordinary grinding conditions ( l ) on usual type grind

5、ing machines and which are intended for achieving a finished surface ( 2 ) of an ordinary grinding degree. Notes ( *) Though ordinary grinding conditions are determined by mutual relations among the wheel diameter and its circumferential speed, work material diameter and its circumferential speed, d

6、epth of cut, feed, etc., here only the range of grinding speed in the case of using the wheels of JIS R 6210 shall be shown as follows: Cylindrical grinding 1700 to 2000 m/min Surface grinding 1200 to 1800 m/min Internal grinding 600 to 1800 m/min Tool grinding 1400 to 1800 m/min Cemented carbide al

7、loy grinding 900 to 1400 m/min (2 ) “Finished surface of an ordinary grinding degree“ means the finished surface of the degree surface roughness neither very precisely finished nor roughly ground and equivalent to “a“ of the . range from 0.8 to 1.6 specified in JIS B 0601. ( ) “Grinding wheels“ main

8、ly means vitrified grinding wheels. 2. Classification The recommendation standards of wheels shall be classified into two classes: the standards for the general metallic materials and the standards for the grinding tools. 2.1 Recommendation Standards for General Metallic Materials The recommendation

9、 standards for the general metallic materials shall be the combinations of the grinding systems and the work materials as given in the following: 2.1.1 The classification of grinding systems shall be as follows: (1) Cylindrical grinding (2) Centerless grinding Applicable Standards: See pages 13 and

Variation of Grinding Conditions (4) Concerning grinding speeds: in the case where the grinding speed is not higher than an ordinary grinding speed, and a wheel of a lower grade is recommendable in the case where the grinding speed is not lower than the ordinary grinding speed.
