3、try through deliberations at the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee, as the result of proposal for revision of Japanese Industrial Standard submitted by the High Pressure Institute of Japan (HPI) w i t h the draft being attached, based on the provision of Article 12 Clause 1 of the Industrial S

4、tandard- ization Law applicable to the case of revision by the provision of Article 14. Consequently JIS G 3601 : 1989 is replaced with this Standard. 12、the cladding metal of stainless steel to be used for pressure vessel, boiler, nuclear reactor, storage tank and the like. Scope 2 Normative references The standards given in Attached Table 1 contain pro- visions which, through reference in this Standard, constitute provisions of this Standard. The m

13、ost recent editions of the standards (including amendments) shall be applied. 3 Grade and designation The grade and designation of clad steel shall be clas- sified as given in Table 1 according to the manufacturing process and application. Table 1 Grade and designation Diffusion clad steel Class 1 C

14、lass 2 Overlay clad steel Class 2 w2 Yote (1) The roll clad steel includes the explosive roll clad steel, diffusion roll clad steel, overlay roll clad steel and cast roll clad steel. 4 Chemical composition The chemical composition of cladding metal and base metal shall be as specified in 11. However

15、, the chemical composition of cladding metal for overlay clad steel and overlay roll clad steel shall be agreed upon between the manufacturer and the purchaser. In this case, the chemical composition of cladding metal specified in the relevant standards of stainless steel or welding materials shall

16、be applied to the specified thickness as measured from the surface of cladding metal. 25、eel and, when designated by the purchaser, the tensile test is carried out only on the base metal, and the yield point or proof stress and ten- sile strength shall conform to the lower specified limit of the base metal. However, this test may be substituted by the tensile test on the whole thickness

26、 as agreed upon between the manufacturer and the purchaser. The outside of bent portion shall be free from cracks. When there is no specification for bend in the standard for cladding metal, the test for face bend may be omitted. When there is no specification for bend in the standard for base metal

27、, the root bend test may be omitted. In either case, when designated by the purchaser, the test shall be carried out with the bend inside radius generally not less than twice the overall thickness. The outside of the bent portion shall be free from cracks 3 mm or over in length. The face bend test m

28、ay be replaced by the side bend test. However, in the case of the side bend test, the outside of the bent portion shall be free from cracks 1.6 mm or over in length. The shear strength shall be applied to the cladding metal 1.5 mm or over in thickness for 6 mm or over in the whole thickness. i 7 Con

29、dition of bonding The clad steel shall be tested in accordance with 13, and the state of bonding when examined by the ultrasonic testing shall be as fol- lows. respectively, and the total areas of all the unbonded portions shall be within 5 % of the overall area of clad steel. a) The condition of bo

30、nding for clad steel when examined by the ultrasonic testing shall be as specified in Table 3. 31、 areas of all the unbonded portions shall be within 1.5 % of the overall area of clad steel. 35、rly specified by the purchaser, and the test method and acceptance standard shall be agreed upon between the manufacturer and the purchaser. 9 Shape, dimensions and tolerances 9.1 Tolerances on width and length The tolerances on width and length for clad steel shall comply with the base metal of 11,

36、 or may be as agreed upon between the manufacturer and the purchaser. 9.2 as follows. Howev

42、er, this requirement shall not be applied to the base material of steel castings and forgings or overlay clad steel. 10 Appearance The clad steel shall be free from defects that are detrimental to practical use. 11 Materials The applicable materials for clad steel shall be as specified in Table 5, a

43、nd cladding metals and base metals given in this table may be combined appropri- ately. However, materials not specified in Table 5 shall be agreed upon between the manufacturer and the purchaser. 48、s shall be as follows. a) The clad steel shall be manufactured by rolling(9, explosive bonding, diffusion bonding or overlaying processes. Note (10) The rolling process herein includes the explosive rolling, diffusion bond rolling, overlay rolling and cast rolling processes.
