3、teel Federation (J1SF)with a draft being attached, based on the provision of Article 12 Clause 1 of the Industrial Standardization Law. Consequently JIS G 3507:1991 is replaced with this Standard. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some parts of this Standard may con- flict with a patent rig

4、ht, application for a patent after opening to the public, utility model right or application for registration of utility model after opening to the public which have technical properties. The relevant Minister and Japanese Industrial Standards Committee are not responsible for identifying the patent

This Standard has been made based on IS0 4954:1993 Steels for cold heading and cold extruding for t

6、he purpose of making it easier to compare this Standard with International Standard; to prepare Japanese Industrial Standard conform- ing with International Standard; and to propose a draft of an International Standard which is based on Japanese Industrial Standard. 13、epared based on the second edition of IS0 4954 Steels for cold heading and cold extrudingpublished in 1993 with some modifications of the technical contents. Portions given sidelines or dotted underlines are the matters modified from the original International Standard. A list of modifications with

14、the explanations is given in annex 2 (informative). 1 This part of JIS G 3507 specifies the carbon steel wire rods, (hereafter re- ferred to as the “wire rods”) to be used mainly for the manufacture of carbon steel wires by cold heading and cold forging. Scope Remarks The International Standards cor

15、responding to this part of JIS G 3507 is as follows. In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/ IEC Guide 21. IS0 4954: 1993 Steels

16、for cold heading and cold extmding (MOD) 2 The standards listed in attached table 1 contain provisions which, through reference in this Standard, constitute provisions of this Standard. The most recent editions of the standards (including the amendments) shall be applied. Normative references 3 The

17、wire rods shall be classified into 6 grades of rimmed or equivalent steel, 11 grades of aluminium-killed steel and 21 grades of killed steel, and their symbols shall conform to table 1. In the case where a flaw depth is necessitated to be especially controlled for alu- minium

33、 killed steel and killed steel, for 25 mm max. in diameter of wire rod, class A in annex 1 table 1 may be specified subjected to agreement between the manu- facturer and the purchaser. d) When special control of a flow depth is required for rimmed corresponding steel (including rimmed steel), for 15

34、 mm max. in diameter of the wire rod, class B in annex 1 table 2 may be specified as agreed upon between the purchaser and the supplier. I 8 Tests 8.1 Analytical test 8.1.1 General matters for analytical test and sampling of analytical sample The general matters for analytical test and sampling of cast analytical sample shall be in accorda

37、nce with clause.8(posit.vn).Qf.JS.G.0404. 8.1.2 0320. 8.2 Metallographic test 8.2.1 of decarburized layer depth shall be as follows. a) One test piece shall be taken from each lot of the same cast, the same roll chance and the same dimensions. b) The test method shall be in accordance with 4,l.(meas

In that case, the average decarburized layer depth of the cross section of wire rods shall be measured at four positions when the circumfer- ence is equally divided in reference to the position of the maximum decarburized depth, and the average

39、decarburized depth shall be obtained. Analytical method The analytical method shall be in accordance with JISG Test for measurement of decarburized layer depth The test for measurement 8.2.2 a) The sampling of a test piece shall be agreed upon between the purchaser and the supplier. b) The test meth

40、od shall be in accordance with JI.S.G.0551. However, any one of them shall be agreed upon between the purchaser and the supplier. Austenitic grain size test The austenitic grain size test shall be as follows. 8.2.3 a) The sampling of a test piece shall be agreed upon between the purchaser and the su

41、pplier. b) The test method shall be in accordance with JIS.-G-.O.555. However, whether test Non-metallic inclusion test The non-metallic inclusion test shall be as follows. The non-metallic inclusion shall be applied when designated by the purchaser, and the obtained result shall conform to the requirements specified in 6.2. The appearance shall conform to the requirements specified in 7.1. The dimensions sh

Marking Wire rods having passed the inspection shall be marked on each coil or each bundle with the following items. However, when approved by the purchaser, a part thereof may be omitted. a) Symbol of grade b) Cas

48、t number or inspection number c) Diameter of wire rod d) Manufacturers name or its abbreviation 11 Report The report shall conform to clause 13 (report) in JISG0404.
