Measuring Apparatus The petri dish, pincette, measuring cylinder, lid, upper funnel with scale, filter supporting base, sample bottle and its lid shall be cleaned prior to every time of use in the following sequence. (1) Rinse with petroleum ether to remove oil content. (2

20、) Wash sufficiently in warm water with using neutral detergent and rinse twice with warm water. Rinse twice with filtered distillated water. Rinse with filtered isopropyl alcohol to remove water content. Rinse with filtered petroleum ether and then put inner lid as a small amount of petroleum ether

(1) Sample in the sample bottle about 200 ml of working fluid to be measured according to a proper method. (2) Take 100 ml as s

(6) Insert two filters in Petri dish so as not to be one upon another with using pincette. Put the Petri dish in the dryer at 8OoC, open halfway the lid of

For the filters “E“ and “T“ taken out from desiccator, measure and record as follows: Place the filter IiEf1 on the gravimeter, measure swiftly and record

28、the mass of lEl W E (initial mass) in unit 0.1 mg. (b) Place the filter “T“ on the gravimeter, measure swiftly and record the mass of “T“ mT (initial mass) in unit 0.1 mg. (10) Return the measured and recorded filters “E“ and “TI to the Petri dish so as not to lie one upon another and store. Remark:

29、 In the case where the contamination level of sample is expected clearly to exceed 10 mg/100 ml, the use of filter “T“ may be abridged. 7.3 Measuring Procedure of Working Fluid Contamination The measuring procedure of working fluid contamination shall be as follows: (1) Mount two filters with filter

30、 “T“ in underway to the filter supporting base with using pincette and assemble the upper and lower funnels with fastenings. (3) (4) Shake the sample bottle sufficiently to suspend so that the particulates may be distributed uniformly as far as possible. Immediately, take the sample for measurement
