3、ister of Economy, Trade and Industry through deliberations at the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee, as the result of proposal for revision of Japanese Industrial Standard submitted by the Japan Grinding Wheel Association (GIS)/ the Japanese Standards Association (JSA) with the draft being att
4、ached, based on the provision of Article 12 Clause 1 of the Industrial Standardization Law applicable to the case of revision by the provision of Article 14. Consequently JIS R 6242 : 1999 is replaced with this Standard. In order to conform to the International Standard, this revision has been prepa
5、red based on IS0 525 : 1999 Bonded abrasive products-General requirements. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some parts of this Standard may conflict with a patent right, application for a patent after opening to the public, utility model right or application for registration of utility mod

14、s been prepared based on the third edition of IS0 525 Bonded abrasive products-General requirements published in 1999 with modifying some technical contents. Portions underlined with dots are the matters not stated in the original Interna- tional Standard. 1 Scope This Standard covers bonded abrasiv
15、e products in general (grinding wheels, segments, sticks and stones) excluding abrasive products with diamond or cubic boron nitride. It gives: - the designation; - the main form and denomination of bonded abrasive products; - the standard profile of straight wheels; - the range of outside diameters
16、; - the range of thicknesses; - the range of bore diameters; - specifications; - the marking. This Standard is general and is complemented by JIS R 6211-1 to JIS R 6211-16. Remarks : The International Standard corresponding to this Standard is as fol- lows. In addition, symbols which denote the degr
17、ee of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) ac- cording to ISO/IEC Guide 21.
