3、Economy, Trade and Industry through deliberations at the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee according to the proposal of establishing a Japanese Industrial Standard from Japanese Standards Association (JSA), with a draft of Industrial Standard based on the provision of Article 12 Clause 1 of th

11、icense from IHS -,-,- JAPANESE INDUSTRIAL STANDARD JIS B 0721 : 2004 Edge quality and its grades for material removal parts 1 Scope This Standard specifies the edge quality and its grades of the mechani- cally processed components of which surface layers have been removed by mechani- cal processes.

12、2 Normative references The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this Standard, constitute provisions of this Standard. 15、pply: a) edge a section where two surfaces meet The said section signifies the ridge line and its neighbourhood. Elements of edge quality Elements for specifying the edge quality shall be Technical requirements which are individually specified in accordance with JI

19、S B 0024, such as dimensional tolerances, geometrical tolerances and surface roughness, shall apply independently unless any special relationship is specified between them. a) Dimensional and geometrical tolerances of edges NOTE : In the case where geometrical tolerances apply to internal edges as t

20、he design requirement, they shall be indicated individually in accor- dance with JIS B 0021. b) Surface texture of edges, which signifies the state of the edge surface sub- jected to the external affecting factors, including surface roughness, waviness, tool marks, flaws, chips and attached foreign

21、materials. NOTE : In the case where surface roughness other than those specified in this Standard apply, it shall be indicated individually in accordance with JIS B 0031, based on the definitions of the surface roughness param- eters specified in JIS B 0601. Surface integrity of edges, which signifi

22、es the surface integrity subjected to the external factors such as processing force, heat and intrusion of foreign ma- terials. NOTE : It is desirable that the function of the component shall not be affected by such as residual stress, work hardening, burning, cracks, voids and attachment of chips.
