16、marks 1. Of the point-shape defects, those with gas are bubbles and those without it are foreign materials. The values of diameter of bubble and foreign material shall be the largest external diameter. However, in the value of diameter, halo part is not included. 2. Linear and zonal defects are thos

17、e which exist in the inside or on the surface of the glass, such as line, non-uniformity of base, scratch, etc. 3. In the calculation formula in the Table, S is the area of the plate glass expressed with the unit of m2 and rounded off down to the second decimal place in accordance with the specifica

18、tion in JIS 2 8401. 20、he shape and dimensions of the float glass and the polished plate glass shall be as shown below : 4.1 Shape The shape shall be square or rectangular plate. 4 . 2 Dimensions The dimensional value of length, width and thickness shall be expressed with the numerical value in mm unit. 4 . 3 Thickness an

21、d its tolerance The thickness shall be such that the value measured in accordance with 5.2 shall be within the range shown by thickness and its tolerance given in Table 2. Table 2. 22、 I f 1.2 4 . 4 Tolerance on length and width The dimensional value of length and width shall be such that the value measured in parallel at a position 50 mm or less distant from the side of plate in accordance with 5.3 shall be within the range of tolerance shown in Table 3. Test method 5.1 Quality The tests on quality shown in 3. shall be made as follows : (1) Detection of bubble, foreign material, linear and zonal defects, flaw and crazing is made under the circumstance not affected by the light from

25、the outside by setting a group of fluorescent lamps (“1 horizontally in four parallel steps separating each other at an interval of 50 cm on the vertical wall with black mat surface coated as shown in Fig.1, illuminating the specimen glass put on the position 1 m apart from and parallel to the wall

26、from the back side, and observing visually the specimen from the front side. The distance between the specimen glass and the observer shall be approximately 50 cm in the case of bubble, foreign material and crazing, and some 4 m for linear and zonal defects and flaw. Note (9 The fluorescent lamp to

27、be used shall be 40 W cool white fluorescent lamp of 120 cm in length and, if the length exceeding 120 cm is required, plural lamps shall be installed touching end by end in tandem. Perspective distortion is examined by seeing through the specimen glass at the position approximately 4.5 m distant from it in the direction that the incident angle to it is as shown in Table 4, and observing

30、 the screen set up perpendicularly to the sight line approximately 4.5 m further ahead of the specimen over the total width of about middle part of the specimnen from the horizontal direction, as shown in Fig. 2. The specimen glass shall be kept with the drawn direc- tion?) at manufacture vertical a

36、 measurement Thickness specified in 4.3 shall be measured on the part 15 mm distant from periphery with the micrometer calipers specified in JIS B 7502 which is graduated to 0.01 mm or with a measuring instrument having an equivalent or superior in accuracy. The indicated value of thickness shall be

37、 the numerical value rounded off to the first decimal place in accordance with JIS 2 8401. 5.3 Length and width measurement Length and width specified in 4.4 shall be measured with the steel tape measure specified in JIS B 7512 with a minimum scale of 1 mm about the distance between two cut lines in

Inspection In the inspection of the float glass and polished plate glass, the tests shall be made in accordance with 5. on the specimen taken by a resonable sampling plan, and the results shall meet the rquirements of 3. and 4. 7. Packaging The float glass and polished pl

39、ate glass shall be packaged by the use of suitable shock-absorbing material. 8. Marking The following items or their abbreviations shall be marked on each package of float glass and polished plate glass. (1) Name of product (2) Classification according to thickness (3) Nominal dimensions of length a

41、ass for manufacturing mirror. 2. Classification The plate glass for manufacturing mirror shall be classified according to thickness as shown below: (i) 2 mm (2) 3 mm (3) 5 mm (4) 6 mm 3. Quality The quality of the plate glass for manufacturing mirror, on each of the central part, peripheral part and
