3、f Economy, Trade and Industry through deliberations at the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee, as the result of proposal for revision of Japanese Industrial Standard submitted by High Pressure Institute of Japan (HPI) with the draft being attached, based on the provision of Article 12 Clause 1
4、of the Industrial Standard- ization Law applicable to the case of revision by the provision of Article 14. Consequently JIS G 3604 : 1992 is replaced with this Standard. Class 1 I31 Class 2 B2 Class 1 D1 Class 2 D2 3 Definitions For the purposes of this Standard, the definitions given in JIS G 0601 and the following definition apply. a) free iron In the cladding metal of cladding welded clad
16、 steels, free iron which exists in nonferrous alloys such as copper alloy and others. 4 Types and symbols The types and symbols of the clad steels shall be classi- fied according to the manufacturing methods and applications as given in table 1. 19、n specified in clause 12. The chemical composition of the cladding metals of the buildup welded clad steels and the buildup welded and rolled clad steels, however, shall be as agreed on between the purchaser and supplier, and relative to the speci- fied thickness from the surface, the chemical compo
20、sition specified in the JIS for copper and copper alloy or in the JIS for the welding materials corresponding to the cladding metals shall be applied, as appropriate. 21、nsile strength, elongation, bendability and shearing strength shall be as given in table 2. 25、kness of base metal (mm) t 2 : thickness of cladding metal (mm) (3) In a case of two-kind clad steels, where the base metals are forged steel or cast steel and where designated by the purchaser, the tension test shall be carried out only for the base metal, and the yield point or proof stress and th
26、e tensile strength shall satisfy the standardized lower limit value of that base metal. The outside of the bent portion shall be free from any cracks. Where there is no provisio
28、n for bending in the standard of the cladding metal, the surface bend test may be omitted. Further, where there is no provisions for bend- ing in the standard of the base metal, the root bend test may be omitted. In any case, if requested by the purchaser, a bending test shall be executed with the i
29、nside radius of bend generally 2 times or over the overall thickness. There shall not be any cracks 3 mrn or over in length on the outside of the bent por- tion. The side bend test may substitute for the surface bend test. In the side bend test, there shall not be any cracks 1.6 mm or over in length
30、 on the outside of the bent portion. This property shall be applied to the clad steels of 6 mm or over in overall thickness and 1.5 mm or over in thickness of cladding metal. 7 Bonding condition Clad steels shall be tested in accordance with clause 14 and the bonding condition by ultrasonic testing
31、shall be as follows: a) The bonding condition of the clad steels by ultrasonic testing shall be as given in table 3. 32、e area of one non-bonded part shall be 20 cm2 or under, and the total area of non- bonded parts shall be 1.5 % or under of the overall area of the clad steel. s Detection shall be conducted on the longitudinal and lateral lines of 200 mm pitch, and within 50 mm from or within 25 mm (to both directio
33、ns) from the prearranged grooving line as centre. The length of one non-bonded part shall be 75 mm or under and the area of one non-bonded part shall be 45 cm2 or under, and further the total area of non-bonded parts shall be 5 % or under of the overall area of the clad steel. b) The grades of bondi
34、ng condition by the ultrasonic testing shall generally be F for class 1 and S for class 2. However, the combination of S for class 1 and F for class 2 may also be designated, as specifically agreed on between the pur- chaser and supplier. The bonding condition of the buildup welded clad steels by th
35、e ultrasonic test- ing shall be as agreed on between the purchaser and supplier. c) 8 Corrosion resistance The corrosion test on the cladding metal of the clad steels shall be performed when specifically designated by the purchaser, and its testing method and acceptance criteria shall be as agreed o
36、n between the purchaser and supplier. 38、d supplier. 10 % of nominal thickness of cladding metal 10 Shape, dimensions and their tolerances 10.1 Tolerances on width and length The tolerances on width and length of the clad steels shall be in accordance with clause 12 for the base metal. However, these may also be subjected to the agreement
39、between the purchaser and supplier. 10.2 Tolerances on thickness The tolerances on thickness of the clad steels shall be as follows: The tolerances on thickness of the cladding metal shall be as given in table 4. 41、urchaser and supplier. The minus side tolerances on thickness of the base metal shall be in accordance with the standards for the base metal. No tolerance shall be specified for the plus side. If particularly required, tolerances shall be as agreed on between the purchaser and supplier. Tolerances o
42、n overall thickness shall be in accordance with the following for- mula. Minus side = minus side tolerance of base metal + plus side tolerance of cladding metal Plus side = plus side tolerance of base metal when overall thickness is taken as nominal size + safety allowance The safety allowance shall
43、 be as agreed upon between the purchaser and supplier. Remarks : 10.3 Flatness The maximum value of the flatness of clad steels shall generally be in accordance with table 9 of JIS G 3193. However, this may be as agreed upon between the purchaser and supplier. Further, in the case where the base met
44、al is forged steel or cast steel and for cladding welded clad steel, this provision shall not be applied. 46、appropriately. Materials other than those of table 5, however, shall be as agreed on between the purchaser and supplier.
