9、ing test on the stress corrosion cracking tests for stainless steels. 2 Normative references The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this Standard, constitute provisions of this Standard. The most recent editions of the standards (including amendment) indicated below s

JIS K 8123 Calcium chloride JIS K 8159 Magnesium chloride hexahydrate JIS K 8180 Hydrochloric acid JIS K 8575 Calcium hydroxide JIS R 6252 Abrasive papers JIS R 6253 Waterproof abrasive papers 3 Test method Method A: 42 % magnesium chloride stress corrosion cracking test 3.1 Test so

11、lution The test solution shall be as follows. The boiling point is adjusted to 143 O C k 1 OC with the test solution of magne- sium chloride hexahydrate specified in JIS K 8159 and distilled water or deionized water. The concentration of the magnesium chloride solution is 42 %. Further, the pH of th

12、e 20 % aqueous solution of magnesium chloride to be used shall be within the range of 3 to 7 at ordinary temperature. 3.2 Test 3.2.1 Uniaxial tensile test The uniaxial tensile test shall be as follows. 0 a) For the tensile test machine, the uniaxial tensile test machine of f 1 % in load precision is

13、 used. For the load weight, that conforming to the tolerance deter- mined by the Measurement Law is used. b) For the test container, that which has a necessary and sufficient capacity for carrying out the test, a cooling capacity sufficient for preventing the concentra- tion of the test solution and

14、 is equipped with a counterflow condenser is used. c) For the heater, that capable of keeping the solution during the test in a quiet boiling state is used. d) Test pieces The test pieces shall be as follows. i) The test piece shall be of a plate shape or a rod shape, and the standard dimensions of

15、the parallel part of the test piece shall conform to the fol- lowing. 16、m IHS -,-,- 2 G 0576 : 2001 Plate shape: 2 mm thickness, 3 mm width and 30 mm length, or 4 mm thickness, 5 mm width and 30 mm length Rod shape: 3 mm or 5 mm diameter and 30 mm length Dimensions of other parts such as the grip part and the like are not es- pecially specified. For the cutting method o

17、f a test piece, carry out by the method of saw cutting or the like which has little influence on the material. Thereafter, finish to the shape of the test piece conforming to the tester to be used by cutting. Polish the parallel part of a test piece successively to #600 with abrasive paper specified

18、 in JIS R 6252 or JIS R 6253. After polishing, degrease the test piece by washing with suitable solvent. Further, carry out heat treatment for removing the influence of residual stress according to the test purpose, if necessary. Completely cover the surface of the test piece exposed to the gas phas

19、e part in the test container by coating or other appropriate methods. 2) 3) 4) e) Test method The test method shall be as follows. 1) 2) The amount of test solution shall be 250 ml or over per each test piece. Equip a test piece to the test apparatus. Pour the test solution previously boiled by a fl

20、ask with a cooling counterflow condenser into a test container, and heat it. When boiling starts again, load weights, and measure a period from this point of time to the point of time when the test piece is fractured and take it as fracture time. 3) Hold the boiling point of the test solution at 143

21、 “C f 1 O C through all the test period. 3 . 2 . 2 U-bend test A U-bend test shall be as follows. a) For test solution, use a glass-made flask (about 1 O00 ml capacity) to which a glass-made vertical reflux condenser having a sufficient cooling capacity for pre- venting the concentration of the test

22、 solution is connected with a ground taper joint. b) Use a heater capable of keeping the test solution during the test in a gently boiling state. cl Test pieces The test pieces shall be as follows. 1) The test piece shall be flat, and its dimensions shall be 1 mm to 3 mm in thickness, 10 mm or 15 mm

23、 in width and 75 mm in length. For the test piece of over 3 mm in thickness, the thickness is made 3 mm by cutting only one side. The test surface in this case shall be a non-cut surface. Cutting of the test piece is carried out by saw cutting or the like which has little influence on the material.

After polishing, the t

26、est piece is degreased with suitable solvent. Further, heat treatment for removing the influence of residual stress is carried out according to the test purpose, if necessary. d) Test method The test method shall be as follows. For a test piece, use a punch of 8 mm inner radius as given in Fig. 1, a

27、nd carry out roller bend so that both legs become parallel to each other. After the roller bend, use a suitable clamping jig as given in Fig. 2, and clamp so that both legs of the test piece widened by spring back become parallel to each other (Fig. 2 shows an example in bolt clamping). Put a suitab

28、le in- sulating material between the clamping jig and the test piece. The amount of test solution shall be 250 ml and over per each test piece. The boiling point of test solution is kept at 143 “C k 1 “C through all the test period. After the test solution completely boiled, put the test piece to wh

29、ich a stress is added by 1) into the test solution, and take this point of time as the start time of the test. In this case, limit the number of test pieces put into one test container to two pieces in the same steel grade, and do not put different steel grades at the same time. Take out the test pi

30、ece as clamped with the jig per each specific time, wash with water, and observe the condition of the crack on the test surface with a magnifying glass (5 to 15 magnifications). Carry out this operation in as short time as possible. After the end of observation, put again the test piece into the boi

31、ling solu- tion, and continue the test. Repeat the operations of 5) and 61, and examine required time from the start of the test until the crack is observed with the magnifying glass macro- cracking generation time (h) and required time from the start of the test until the cracking traverses the pla

32、te width of the test piece crack tra- versing time (h). Take the total of the time for putting the test piece into boiling solution for the macro-cracking generation time and the crack tra- versing time. 3.2.3 Record The record shall be as follows. a) Uniaxial tensile test 1) 2) Name of material or

35、cro-cracking generation time (h) 4) Crack traversing time (h) 4 Test method Method B: 30 % calcium chloride stress corrosion cracking test 4.1 Test solution The test solution shall be as follows. a) Add hydrochloric acid specified in JIS K 8180 to about 1 O00 ml of distilled water or deionized water

36、, and adjust to pH = 3.5 k 0.1 to prepare stock solution. b) Weigh 300 g of calcium chloride anhydride specified in JIS K 8123, dissolve into 700 g stock solution prepared in a) to make 30 % calcium chloride aqueous solution. Remarks : Since heat is generated by dissolving calcium chloride into stoc

37、k solution at once, it is added gradually. c) After confirming that the temperature of 30 % calcium chloride aqueous solu- tion prepared in b) reaches room temperature, adjust the pH of 30 % calcium chloride aqueous solution by adding 1 % hydrochloric acid to make test solu- tion. In this case, sinc

38、e the pH varies largely by adding a very little amount of 1 % hydrochloric acid, add little by little by using a pipet. Further, when the pH decreases lower than 3.5, adjust by using calcium hy- droxide (JIS K 8575) aqueous solution. 4.2 Test 4.2.1 Test apparatus The test apparatus shall be as follo

39、ws. a) Test container For a test container, an about 1 O00 ml capacity glass-made flask, a beaker or the like is used. Further, for the upper part of the container, a cooling condenser, a watch glass and the like are used to prevent concentration of test solution. Heater For a heater, a thermostatic

40、 oven capable of keeping the temperature of the solution during the test within 80 “C k 1 “C is used. b) 4.2.2 Test piece The test piece shall be as follows. a) The test piece shall be flat, and its dimensions shall be 1 mm to 3 mm in thick- ness, 10 mm in width and 75 mm in length. For the original

In the case of by shear, the cutting surface is refinished by cutting or grin

43、ding and the influenced part by shear is removed. All the surface of a test piece is successively polished to #600 with abrasive cloth or abrasive paper which is specified in JIS R 6252 or JIS R 6253. After the end of polishing, the test piece is degreased by washing with suitable sol- vent. Further

44、, heat treatment for removing the influence of residual stress is carried out according to the test purpose if necessary. The corner part of the section of a test piece is rounded in a curvature of 1 mm to 3 mm by a suitable method. For working a test piece, a punch of 8 mm in inner radius is used,

45、and U-bend working is carried out so that both legs become parallel to each other. The test piece after roller bend working is dipped into 20 % nitric acid solution (at 50 OC) for 2 h, then carry out passivity treatment, and clamp so that both legs of the test piece widened by spring back become par

46、allel to each other by using a suitable clamping jig as shown in Fig. 2 (Fig. 2 shows an example in bolt clamping). 48、icense from IHS -,-,- 6 G 0576 : 2001 4.2.3 Test method The test method shall be as follows. a) The part dipped in the solution of a test piece and the surface of the just upper part of the liquid level and its end surface are polished successively to #600 just before dipping with the abrasive paper specified in JIS B 6252 or JIS B 6253. The surface after completing polish is sufficiently washed with distilled water or deionized water, and tested immediately after drying. b) The volume of test solution shall be 100 ml and over per each test piece. c) d) The temperature of test sol
