3、,-,- S 3200-2 : 1997 Foreword This translation has been made based on the original Japanese Industrial Standard established by the Minister of International Trade and Industry through deliberations at the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee in accordance with the Industrial Standardization Law.
4、This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the test method of low temperature resistant of the equipment for water supply service of the specification in cold areas, and the Japanese Industrial Standards of the equipment related to this Standard are indicated in a) be- low. 14、ervice based on the amendment of “Standard of structure and material of water supply ap- paratuses based on the Water Works Law” in 1997, and to improve the efficiency of understanding and applying the test method, and to achieve the convenience for users. 1 Scope This Standard specifies the test me
15、thod of low temperature resistant of the equipment for water supply service including the valves such as water tap fau- cets, pressure reducing valves and pressure relief valves, house-piping units, elec- tric beverage water coolers, storage type electric water heaters, gas water heater, and kerosen
16、e-fired water heating equipment of the specification for cold area. 2 Normative references The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this Standard, constitute provisions of this Standard. The most recent editions of the standards indicated below shall be applied. JIS S 3

18、ethods of destruction by vacuum pressure 3 Test apparatus The test apparatuses shall be as indicated in the examples in Figs. 1 and 2, and piping, combination faucets, pressure measuring devices, and pipe materials shall be as follows. a) b) Pipes shall have the diameter not to cause any troubles in
19、 draining. The combination faucets shall be connected to the test apparatus at either the water side or the hot water side. Faucets other than the combination faucets and having a plurality of anti-freezing mechanisms of the same specification shall be connected to the test apparatus at either one o
20、f the mechanisms. The gradient of the horizontal part of the piping shall be at least 1 0 0 . Information : 1 c) The gradient is provided for draining water. Thus, in Fig. 1, the test equipment may be disposed on the upper side or the lower side with respect to the horizontal part of the piping. Whe
21、n the test equipment is disposed on the upper side, the tip of the hori- zontal part of the piping is directed upwardly. When the test equipment is disposed on the lower side, the tip of the horizon- tal part of the piping is directed downwardly. Water is drained from the test equipment. PROTECTED B

24、2-50 Control valve Water feeddischarge connection port Example of test apparatus of relief valve 4 Procedure The procedure of the test shall be as follows: a) The test equipment is fitted to the test apparatus in clause 3 in a regular ser- vice condition, and water at ordinary temperature is passed
25、therethrough. After water flooding is stopped, operations for preventing freezing of water shall be performed according to the specification of the equipment, including water discharge from the pipe, water draining from the test equipment, and heating by a heater, and the test equipment is naturally
26、 left for 10 min. S 3200-2 1997 d) After ice in the test equipment is melted, water is re-passed from the pressure source at the normal temperature and with the prede
28、termined pressure of the equipment. Ice may be melted by the heating using the heater, etc. if necessary. Ice melting may be omitted when the anti-freezing operation is performed by the heating using a heater. After checking presence/absence of water flooding (presence/absence of water flooding shal
29、l be checked from either one part if there is a plurality of outlets), presence/absence of any breakage and deformation caused by freezing is checked, and the tests shall be carried out on the pressure resistant performance, water hammer limit performance, back current preventive performance, and va
30、cuum pressure destruction performance in accordance with JIS S 3200-1, JIS S 3200-3, JIS S 3200-4, and JIS S 3200-5.
