Test method 5.1 Pressing bend method the following: The test shall be carried out in accordance with The supports and the mandrel shall be parallel to

12、 each other. The surfaces of the mandrel and supports which will come in contact with the test piece may be coated with oil. The tip of the mandrel shall have a cylindrical surface of the radius equal to the inside radius specified, and the length of the cylindrical surface shall be greater than the

13、 width of the test piece. The part of supports which comes in contact with the test piece shall be of a cylindrical surface with the radius not less than 10 mm. The distance between the supports shall conform to the following formula (refer to Fig. 1). The tolerance on the distance between the suppo

(5) The bend angle to be formed by the method shown in Fig. 1 shall be up to approximately 170“. When the bend angle is 180, the test piece shall be compressed, after being bent to

17、 170“ by means of the foregoing method, on both ends towards one another by means of an insert having a thickness two times the specified inside radius, as shown in Fig. 2. However, in Fig. 1 the distance between the two supports shall be L = 2r + 2t, the tolerance on the distance between supports a

18、s shown in Table 2 and the test piece shall be pressed until it passes through the clearance between the supports. Thereafter, the test piece may be deemed to have been bent to 180“. I I 5.2 Winding bend method conform to the following: In the winding bend method, the test shall (i) As s

21、hown in (a) or (b) of Fig. 4, the test piece shall be made into specified form and angle at the approximate middle part by such a manner that one leg of the test piece is pressed and the other one is bent so that the middle part is wound around a mandrel or a mould. The position at which the testing

23、table inside radius by the method (i) or the like, on both ends towards one another until the inside radius attains the specified value according to the method given in Fig. 2 or Fig, 3. Z 2248-1996 5.3 V-block method The testing force shall be applied gradually to the test piece placed on the V-block by putting the mandrel on its middle part to be bent to specified form (see Fig. 5). The V-block method shall be used in accorda

25、nce with the material standard in each relevant Japanese Industrial Standard. The shape and dimension of the V-block and mandrel shall be as specified in the material standard. Fig. 5. 26、5OC and if the temperature control is required, it shall be 23&5“C, provided if the material standard in each relevant Japanese Industrial Standard specifies it, it shall apply. 6.
