Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies zinc-coated low carbon steel wires (hereafter, referred t o as “steel wires“). Remarks: The following standards are cited i n this Standard.

Definitions For the main terms used i n this Standard, the following def

6、initions apply. (1) zinc-coated low carbon steel wires ( S ) A steel w i r e of a circular sectional form wherein a wire rod conforming to JIS G 3505 is cold worked and annealed, and then coated with zinc by hot-dipping or electrolyzing. ( 2 ) zinc-coated low carbon steel w i r e s (H) sectional for

Mechanical properties The mechanical properties of steel w i r e s shall be as follows. steel wire is zinc coated and then drawn i n accordance with 9. are not specified. 14、GS-7 shall be subjected t o the tests of 10.1 and 10.2, and the elongation values shall be as given i n Table 2. 4.3 Torsion characteristic For the torsion characteristic of steel wires, when the steel wires are subjected t o the tests of 10.1 and 10.3 and rotated to a number of twisting turns given

15、 i n Table 2, the steel wires shall not be ruptured. Table 2 may be used as agreed upon between the purchaser and supplier. 23、 steel wires marked with / (a slash) are not specified since no steel wire is produced. 5.2 Winding property For SWMGS-3, SWMGS-4, SWMGS-5,.SWMGS-B, SWMGS-7, and SWMGH-3, SWMGH-4, the steel wires shall be subjected to the tests of 1 0 . 1 and 10.5, and remarkable crack or peeling shall not be genera

24、ted on the wound part. 6. Preferred wire diameters, tolerances on wire diameter and minimum mass 6.1 Preferred wire diameters For designation of steel wires, a wire diameter shall be expressed in mm, and the preferred diameters shall be as given in Table 4. Appearance Steel wires shall be free from corrosion, flaws, cracks, and other harmful defects on the sur

33、face of a steel wire. 8. Materials Materials to be used for steel wires shall be wire rods conforming to JIS G 3505. 9. Manufacturing method as follows. The manufacturing method of steel wires shall be (1) For zinc-coated low carbon steel wires (S), after cold working and annealing the materials, th

35、t-dip zinc coated or electrolytically zinc coated. However, if necessary, it may be subjected to intermediate annealing in the cold working process. Further, when specified by the purchaser, the steel wires may be further drawn. 1 0 . Tests 1 0 . 1 Sampling of test piece test, coating mass test, and

36、 winding test, one test piece shall be respectively taken from one end of a coil. (1) No. 9B test piece specified i n 4 . (shape and dimensions of test piece) of JIS Z 2201 shall be used as the test piece

38、. (2) The test method shall be i n accordance with JIS Z 2241. (3) Elongation shall be measured i n accordance with the method for obtaining the elongation after fracture of 6 . The method for obtaining the original sectional area, original gage length, yield point, proof strength, tensile strength,

39、 yield elongation, elongation after fracture (elongation), and reduction of area of the test piece parallel part of JIS Z 2241. The original gage length shall be as given i n Table 2. When the test piece is fractured at the grip part i n the tensile test, the said test shall be invalidated, and a te

40、st shall be carried out again by further sampling the test piece from the same coil. ( 4 ) When the test piece is fractured outside 1/4 of the gage length from the center between gage marks and the result value does not conform t o the specification i n the tensile test, the said test shall be inval

41、idated and a test shall be carried out again by sampling the test piece further from the same coil. 10.3 Torsion test The torsion test shall be as follows. (1) The test piece which is made about 200 mm t o 300 mm length by straightening by using an appliance or the like shall be used. The surface of

42、 the steel w i r e shall not be injured by flaws i n correction. (2) For the torsion test method, both ends of the test piece shall be solidly grasped at a distance specified i n Table 2, and one side grip shall be rotated t o a specific number of turns while it is being strained. (3) When the test

43、piece is fractured at the root of the grip i n the middle of the test and its cause is clearly due t o incoveniences of the test method, the test shall be invalidated, and a test shall be carried out again by further sampling the test piece from the same-coil. 10.4 Coating mass test 3.2 (antimony ch
