Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the molding silica sand, here- inafter, referred to as the “silica sand“ of under 2 % in clay content. 70 and over y up to 85 5. O and under 15. Classification For the silica sand, natural silica sand( and artificial silica sand(2) shall be classified into 6 classes according to chemical composition and into 10 classes of number 10 to number 200 according to fineness. 17、r chemical analysis of silica sand shall be in accordance with JIS R 2212. 8.2 Clay Content Test Method The method for determining the clay content of silica sand shall be in accordance with JIS Z 2601. 19、ethod for determining fineness of silica sand shall be in accordance with JIS Z 2602. Distinction between natural and artificial ones 9. Inspection For the inspection of silica sand, the sample (in this case, a gross sample is about O. 1 % the amount of one item and 10 kg min.) is so taken as to rep
20、resent its quality, inspected according to the test method of 8. amd shall conform to the requirements specified in 3 . , 4 . , 5 . , 6 . , and 7. Natural silica sand 10. Marking Class Silica sand having passed the inspection shall be clearly marked on its package or invoice with the distinction bet
21、ween natural and artificial ones, class, classification by number, production place, factory (or mark) , and gravimetric ratio of peak for each delivery at diggings or factory.
