Formation of batches The formation of batches shall be as follows: A batch shall consist of a group of products of 2000 kg or under poured the metal from the same ladle. In the case where a product exceeds 2000 kg, one piece of product shall be

21、considered to be one batch. In the case where it is operated continuously in the same furnace of the same charging ratio, the tapped quantity within successive 2 h may be con- sidered to be one batch. When the molten metal tapped from 2 or more furnaces has been collected in a ladle, this shall be c

22、onsidered to be one batch. Notwithstanding the requirements of (i), several batches may be combined into one group, and any single batch among those may be allowed to repre- sent the said group by agreement between the purchaser and supplier. In this case, however, those batches shall be verified th

23、at those are poured from the same grade molten metal according to chill test, chemical analysis, thermal analysis and other appropriate means. Test sample The test sample shall be as follows: Separately cast test sample Separately cast test sample shall be poured under the same conditions as the iro

24、n casting for each one batch by using, as a rule, a comparable mould. The number of the test samples shall be one piece excluding spare ones. In the case where the iron castings are subjected to heat treatment, the test sample shall also be subjected to heat treatment in the same manner. The mould k

26、 iron casting 20 mm or thicker in wall thickness and 200 kg or more in mass, a cast-on test sample may be used upon agreement between the purchaser and supplier. In this respect, the test specimen includes two types as shown in Fig. 2, and the selection of the type and location of the test sample in

27、 the relevant iron casting shall be agreed between the purchaser and supplier. In the case where the iron casting is undergone heat treatment, the test sample shall not cut off from the iron casting until the completion of heat treatment. Fig. 2 . In the case where a part of the results of the mechanical tests does not conform to the requirements caused by another reason than that given in (i), the retest may be carried out on the test item(s) not co
