3、evised by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry through deliberations at the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee, as the result of proposal for revision of Japanese Industrial Standard submitted by The Japan Welding Engineering Society (JWES) with the draft being attached, based on the pro

4、vision of Article 12 Clause 1 of the Industrial Standardization Law applicable to the case of revision by the provision of Article 14. Consequently JIS Z 3831 : 1989 is replaced with this Standard. 11、alification procedure for welding technique of plastics 1 Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the test method and crite- ria for acceptance in the qualification procedure for the welding technique of plas- tics by hot jet method. Automatic welding is excepted. 2 Normative references Th

15、he following definitions apply: a) test plate A resin plate prepared for the test; b) test material A welded plate; c test piece A piece of test material which has been processed to be of specific shape and dimensions for carrying out the tensile test; rod jointing Jointing a bead when the welding r

16、od is running out or falling short of the length required during welding. d) 4 Classification of standard technical qualification test The standard tech- nical qualification tests are divided according to the classes of the test plate and the welding position? and their symbols are as given in Table

The gas to be used shall be air. 6 Welding position The position for welding the plate shall be flat, vertical, hori- zontal or overhead as shown in Fig. 1. Flat position Hor

Remarks : The tensile yield strength of polypropylene is referred to Annex to JIS K 6921-1. A high-density polyethylene plate of 19.6 MPa or over in tensile strength which is made flat under a

24、n appropriate forming condition. Remarks : The tensile strength of high-density polyethylene is referred to Annex to JIS K 6922-1. 26、 Welding rod used for the test The welding rod used for the test shall be of 3 mm in diameter and shall conform to JIS K 6746 according to the type of the test plate, or those equivalent or superior thereto in performance. 9 Welding instrument used for the test and backing strip The welding in- stru

27、ment used for the test is not specified definitely. The material and shape of the backing strip is not specified either (groove may be given). 10 Precaution for welding In welding, care shall be taken for the following points: a) The test plate and welding rod can be cleaned and preheated properly i

28、n ad- vance of the welding work. b) The test plate is fixed using an appropriate jig so as to have as least distortion as possible. Welding is carried out at first on the front side and never carried out on the back side first. c) d) In the welding of a vertical position or a horizontal position, th

29、e vertical and horizontal directions of the test material are not allowed to be changed during a period from the start of welding to the end of it. The number of layers of weld is not restricted. Rod joint is not allowed. Bead formation in the course of welding is not allowed. e) f l g 11 Method of

30、judgement 11.1 Appearance test The appearance test shall be as follows: a) The appearance test is carried out on the test material. b) In the appearance test, the following items are evaluated visually or through measurement I 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) deformation. change in colour and shape of bead (front sur

31、face and back surface); height and width of excess weld metal; state of starting point and ending point of welding; state of fusion and penetration; 11.2 Tensile test The tensile test shall be as follows: a) Two tensile test pieces are sampled at the portions shown in Fig. 2 after weld- ing. The fin
