3、RDS Volume 2 NACE International issues three classes of standards: standard practices (SP), test methods (TM), and material requirements (MR). Until June 23, 2006, NACE issued recommended practices, which are now designated standard practices. This change will be effective will all new standards iss

4、ued after that date, and designations of older standards will be changed as they are reaffirmed or revised. The alphanumeric designations for NACE International standards indicate the class of standard, the number of the standard in its class for the year of publication, and the year of publication.

5、 The number immediately following the hyphen reflects the year of the most recent revision or reaffirmation of that particular standard. For example, RP0170-2004 is the designation for the 2004 version of the first recommended practice issued in 1970. RP0472-2005 indicates the 2005 version of the fo

6、urth recommended practice issued in 1972. A reference appearing on the cover page of the published standard will explain that this standard was revised in 2005 and the cover page will continue to detail the full approval history of the document. Standards that were formerly recommended practices wil

7、l carry a notation below the new designation showing the former designation, e.g., (formerly RP0181-94). Existing standards will be modified accordingly as they are revised or reaffirmed. NACE International standards are in one of the three sections: Standard (formerly Recommended) Practices, Test M

8、ethods, or Material Requirements. A description of the general nature of each type of NACE International standard is provided at the end of this table of contents. A listing of all NACE International standard test methods and material requirements follows. EXAMPLES: HOW TO FIND A STANDARD IN THIS BO

9、OK Test Methods If you were looking for TM0297-2002, (1) Go to the TM (Test Methods) section. (2) Scan the headings of the pages and look for TMXX97-XXthese are standards that were originally published in 1997. All of the 1997 TMs are next to each other. (3) When you locate the TMs published in 1997

10、, look for TM0297-2002, which will be between TM0197 and TM0397. Material Requirements If you were looking for MR0176-2006, (1) Go to the MR (Material Requirements) section. (2) Scan the headings of the pages and look for MRXX76-XXthese are standards that were originally published in 1976 (there is

11、only one). All of the 1976 MRs would be next to each other. (Sometimes there may be only one MR published in a given year.) (3) When you locate the MRs published in 1976, look for MR0176-2006, which will be between MR0175/ISO15156-3 and MR0103. A SUBJECT INDEX is located in the back of this Book of

Test methods are tests related to corrosion prevention and control. This type of standard can give the method of conducting tests to ascertain th

37、e characteristics of a material, design, or operation. Material requirements state the necessary characteristics of a material where corrosion is a factor in the selection, application, and maintenance of the material.
