SCOPE

5、: 1.1 Purpose: This specification establishes maximum permissible limits for elements not normally specified but which may occur in trace amounts in wrought nickel, cobalt, and iron alloy products. 1.2 Application: Control provided by this specification has been used typically for highly-stressed ro

6、tating parts, such as turbine discs, where control of trace elements is required to maintain elevated-temperature tensile, stress-rupture, creep, and low-cycle fatigue properties, but usage is not limited to such applications. 1.2.1It is intended that this specification be invoked only for selected

APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS: The issue of the following documents in effect on the date of the purchase order forms a part

27、s on trace elements specified approach the limit of detection; therefore, utmost care must be used in their determination. 8.4It is recommended that purchasers intending to invoke this specification identify, prior to purchase of product, one or more qualified laboratories with the demonstrated capa

28、bility of providing adequate analyses to this specification, AMS 2280, Trace Element Control, Nickel Alloy Castings, or similar proprietary specifications. The ready availability of such a laboratory will expedite conformance to specification requirements in the event that problems occur with the ve
