、ed. 4.QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS: 4.1Responsibility for Inspection: The processor shall supply all samples for processor s tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Where actual parts are to be tested, such parts shall be supplied by purchaser. Purchaser reserves th

、e right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that processing conforms to the specified requirements. 4.2Classification of Tests: 4.2.1Acceptance Tests: Thickness (3.4.1), hardness (3.4.2), adhesion (3.4.4), and quality (3.5) are acceptance tests and shall be p

、erformed on each lot. 4.2.2Periodic Tests: Stress (3.4.3), hydrogen embrittlement (3.4.5) and tests of cleaning and plating solutions (see 8.8) to ensure that the deposited metal will conform to the requirements of this specification are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected

、by the plating processor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. -,-,- AMS 2423DSAEAMS 2423D - 5 - 4.2.3Preproduction Tests: All technical requirements are preproduction tests and shall be performed prior to or on the first-article shipment of plated parts to a purchaser, when a chang

、e in bath composition and/or processing requires reapproval as in 4.4.2, and when purchaser deems confirmatory testing to be required. 4.3Sampling and Testing: Shall be not less than the following; a lot shall be all parts of one size and shape plated in one bath to the same specified plating thickn

、ess range within one 24 hour period and presented for processor s inspection at one time: 4.3.1For Acceptance Tests: Shall be as shown in Table 1. Test samples shall be randomly selected from all parts in the lot. 4.3.2For Periodic Tests: Frequency of testing shall be at the discretion of the proces

Tests for hydrogen embrittlement are applicable only when parts having a hardness of 36 HRC or higher are plated. 4.3.3Sample Configuration: Nondestructive testing shall be performed wherever practical and authorized herein. Except as noted, act

、) located in the left margin is for the convenience of the user in locating areas where technical revisions, not editorial changes, have been made to the previous issue of this specification. An (R) symbol to the left of the document title indicates a complete revision of the specification, including technical revisions. Change bars and (R) are not used in original publications, nor in specifications that contain editorial changes
