5、ation covers a silicone rubber in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, extrusions, and molded shapes. 1.2Application: Primarily for parts required to operate or seal from -65 to +205 C (-85 to +401 F). Silicone elastomer is resistant to deterioration by weathering and petroleum-base lubricating oil and

6、 remains flexible over the temperature range noted. These products are not normally suitable for use in contact with gasoline or aromatic fuels and low-aniline-point petroleum-base fluids due to excessive swelling of the elastomer. 20、 have a corrosive effect on other materials when exposed to conditions normally encountered in service, determined by a procedure agreed upon by purchaser and vendor. Discoloration of metal shall not be considered objectionable. 3.3Quality: The product, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in

25、s for vendors tests and shall be responsible for performing all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to the requirements of this specification. 4.2Classification of Tests: 4.2.1Acceptance T

26、ests: Tests for the following requirements are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each lot: 4.2.2Preproduction Tests: Tests for all technical requirements are preproduction tests and shall be performed prior to or on the initial shipment of a product to a purchaser, when a change in ingredie

27、nts and/or processing requires reapproval as in 4.4.2, and when purchaser deems confirmatory testing to be required. 4.2.2.1For direct U.S. Military procurement, substantiating test data and, when requested, preproduction test material shall be submitted to the cognizant agency as directed by the pr

28、ocuring activity, contracting officer, or request for procurement. 4.3Sampling and Testing: Shall be as follows: 4.3.1For Acceptance Tests: Sufficient product shall be taken at random from each lot to perform all required tests. The number of determinations for each requirement shall be as specified

29、 in the applicable test procedure or, if not specified therein, not less than three. 31、tate of cure shall be used. When the product supplied is an extrusion of such shape that suitable test specimens cannot be cut from the product, a separate flat strip test sample from the same production lot shall be supplied upon request. This strip shall be prepared from tubing 1.000 inch 0.063 (2

32、5.40 mm 1.60) in OD by 0.075 inch 0.008 (1.90 mm 0.20) in wall thickness, mechanically slit and flattened into a strip while being extruded, and cured in the same manner as production product. When the product is a molded shape from which test specimens cannot be cut, a slab 6 inches (152 mm) square

33、 by 0.075 inch 0.008 (1.90 mm 0.20) molded from the same batch of compound shall be supplied upon request. 4.3.1.2A lot shall be all product from the same batch of compound processed in one continuous production run and presented for vendors inspection at one time. 4.3.1.3A batch shall be the quanti

34、ty of compound run through a mill or mixer at one time. 4.3.1.4When a statistical sampling plan has been agreed upon by purchaser and vendor, sampling shall be in accordance with such plan in lieu of sampling as in 4.3.1 and the report of 4.5 shall state that such plan was used. 4.3.2For Preproducti

35、on Tests: As agreed upon by purchaser and vendor. 4.4Approval: 4.4.1Sample product shall be approved by purchaser before product for production use is supplied; unless such approval be waived by purchaser. Results of tests on production product shall be essentially equivalent to those on the approve

36、d sample. 4.4.2Vendor shall use ingredients, manufacturing procedures, processes, and methods of inspection on production product which are essentially the same as those used on the approved sample product. If necessary to make any change in ingredients, in type of equipment for processing, or in ma

37、nufacturing procedures, vendor shall submit for reapproval a statement of the proposed changes in ingredients and/or processing and, when requested, sample product. Production product made by the revised procedure shall not be shipped prior to receipt of reapproval. 4.5Reports: The vendor of the pro

38、duct shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the results of tests to determine conformance to the acceptance test requirements and stating that the product conforms to the other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS 3302G, vendors comp

39、ound number, form and size or part number, and quantity. 40、4.6Resampling and Retesting: If any specimen used in the above tests fails to meet the specified requirements, disposition of the product may be based on the results of testing three additional specimens for each original nonconforming specimen. Failure of any retest specimen to meet the specified r

41、equirements shall be cause for rejection of the product represented and no additional testing shall be permitted. Results of all tests shall be reported. 5.PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY: 5.1Identification and Packaging: Shall be in accordance with AMS 2810. 6.ACKNOWLEDGMENT: A vendor shall mention this s

42、pecification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7.REJECTIONS: Product not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. 8.NOTES: 8.1A change bar ( | ) located in the left margin is fo

43、r the convenience of the user in locating areas where technical revisions, not editorial changes, have been made to the previous issue of this specification. An (R) symbol to the left of the document title indicates a complete revision of the specification, including technical revisions. Change bars

44、 and (R) are not used in original publications, nor in specifications that contain editorial changes only. 8.2The test for Youngs Modulus is not normally required but is intended to be used as a referee test in case of disagreement on the results of the brittleness test. 8.3Dimensions and properties

45、 in inch/pound units and the Celsius temperatures are primary; dimensions and properties in SI units and the Fahrenheit temperatures are shown as the approximate equivalents of the primary units and are presented only for information. 8.4For direct U.S. Military procurement, purchase documents shoul
