11、l). 3.2 Date Stamp Date of manufacturemonth, day, and year; or month and year in this order. 3.3 Rim Size Designation Nominal rim diameter X nominal rim width. 3.4 Rim Type Designation Industry or manufacturers designation for a rim by style or code. 3.5 Multipiece Rim A rim consisting of more than
12、one part. Usually two pieces (rim base and side ring), or three pieces (rim base, side ring, and lock ring). 3.6 Rim Base The major portion of a rim which remains after all removable components have been detached. 3.7 Removable Ring Ring which is removable from the rim base. 4. MARKING 4.1 Marking S
13、pecification 4.1.1 Disc wheels and demountable rims shall be marked with the following information: a. Rim size designation and, in the case of multipiece rims, the rim type designation b. Wheel or rim manufacturers name c. Date stamp d. Manufacturers part number or code 4.1.2 Removable rings shall
14、be marked with the following information: a. Identification of rim(s) to which part may be fitted (must include rim size(s) and type designation) b. 16、or embossed to a height of at least 0.13 mm (0.005 in). The characters shall be legible and not less than 3.2 mm (0.12 in) high. 4.2.2 Location Wheels, demountable rims, and removable rings shall be marked on an area which is visible after a tire is mounted and inflated. 4.3 Supplementary Informatio
