It introduces a difference between IS-771 and PN-4287 with respect to MSC processing of the TerminationList parameter. Problem Statement The differenc

、e between IS-771 and PN-4287 TerminationList parameter processing will result in different service treatments for subscribers roaming into a system providing a different treatment than the home system. The IS-771 procedures describe MSC actions upon receipt of specific parameters from service logic

、programs (SLP). There is a difference between IS-771 procedures text and an SDL in the Chapter 6 annex. Based on the procedures, the parameters included in the response from the SLP provide these instructions. A received AccessDeniedReason parameter directs the MSC to stop further processing and to

、provide final treatment. A received Digits (Dialed) parameter directs the MSC to analyze the received digits using the dialing plan in force. A received TerminationList parameter directs the MSC to “terminate”, or route, the call (PSTN Termination, Intersystem Termination, Local Termination). The ab

、sence of the above parameters in the response from the SLP directs the MSC to continue call processing using the existing call information (e.g., dialed digits). The PN-4287 procedures describe the MSC actions upon receipt of these same parameters in a somewhat different manner. The parameters inclu

、ded in the response from the SLP provide these instructions. A received AccessDeniedReason parameter directs the MSC to stop further processing and to provide final treatment. A received Digits (Dialed) parameter directs the MSC to analyze the received digits using the dialing plan in force. A recei

、ved TerminationList parameter directs the MSC to retain the received routing information and to continue processing using the dialing plan in force. The MSC will include the current Digits (Dialed) value in subsequent service logic queries. The absence of the above parameters in the response from th

I I ORREQ MIN, DGTSDIAL Service logic providers will be impacted by the difference described above. An SLP will return specific parameters to control subsequent MSC processing. When the MSC

、does not act upon the receipt of the TerminationList parameter as expected, the subscribers services will have unexpected interactions. The following two scenarios describe trigger processing when a subscriber roams to a system providing a different TerminationList treatment than that expected by th

、e SLP. In each scenario the subscriber has two triggers: All-Calls and InternationalLCall. The SLP at the All-Calls trigger returns specific parameters intending to control MSC processing, but the expected behavior does not occur. In this scenario, the subscribers home system acts on a received Term

、inationList parameter by routing the call. The expected behavior is that the InternationalLCall trigger is not detected if the service behind the All-Calls trigger provides routing information. However, since the subscriber is roaming into a system which stores a received TerminationList parameter a

、nd continues processing, both triggers will be detected regardless of what is returned from the All-Calls trigger. . .-*-.-.a b . . . . . . . IS-771 Home System L . . . . .
