2、 meeting held June 7 8, 2005. STP BALLOTS AND ALL COMMENTS DUE: October 2, 2006 For your convenience in review, proposed additions to the previously proposed requirements are shown underlined and proposed deletions are shown lined-out. Only paragraphs that have changed from the December 10, 2005 pro
3、posal are shown. The Ninth Edition of the Standard for Steel Aboveground Tanks for Flammable and Combustible Liquids which includes proposals discussed at the STP 142 meeting held June 7 8, 2005. RATIONALE Based on comments received from industry the proposed ninth edition of the Standard for Steel
4、Aboveground Tanks for Flammable and Combustible Liquids is being revised to: 1) Clarify the type of carbon steel that can be used. 2) Clarify the type of heads that can be used on a horizontal tank. 3) Clarify the location of bracings on the bulkhead of a compartment tank. 4) Clarify containment req
5、uirements for direct contact secondary shell and heads, to meet the intent of fi re code requirements. 5) Correct the orientation of a graphic to refl ect a vertical tank joint. PROPOSALS 5.1 A tank shall be constructed of commercial or structural grade carbon steel per 5.2 or Type 304 or 316 stainl
6、ess steel per , as noted in 5.2 and 5.3. Only new material shall be used. 5.2 Carbon steel shall be in accordance with (a), (b), or both: a) Comply with the Standard Specifi cation for Carbon Structural Steel, ASTM A36M; or Standard Specifi cation for Steel, Sheet and Strip, Hot Rolled, Carbon, Stru
