3、 a harmonized trinational set of standards developed to complement the harmonized trinational UL 248 series of standards in that it consists of a Part 1 containing General Requirements applicable to all fuseholders and 8 subsequent Parts specifi c to a corresponding single Class of fuseholder. 4、bulletin supersedes the bulletin dated May 19, 2006. BACKGROUND The UL 4248 family of Standards has been developed primarily to provide a tri-nationally harmonized (United States, Canada and Mexico) set of requirements for fuseholders. The UL 4248 series of Standards has been designed to complement

5、the UL 248 family of Standards in that it consists of a Part 1 containing General Requirements applicable to all fuseholders and 8 subsequent Parts specifi c to a corresponding single Class of fuseholder. RATIONALE The actual technical requirements; Construction, Performance and Marking remain funda

6、mentally the same as those contained in UL 512, upon which the UL 4248 family is based. There are, however, some technical differences that have been incorporated into these Standards. These include: The exclusive use of dummy fuses, in lieu of actual fuses, in the performance testing of fuseholders

7、. The use of dummy fuses will increase the consistency of test results by removing the effects of fuse-to-fuse performance variations. The provision of requirements for the use of polymeric materials in the construction of fuseholders. The requirement of a 5 ma. limit for leakage current through an

8、open fuse indicator or indicating circuit. Provision of a mechanism for the evaluation of the degree of electric shock protection provided by fuseholders marked with IP codes. 10、ter referred to as Part 1. The numbering of the Clauses in this Part corresponds to like numbered Clauses in Part 1. The requirements of Part 1 apply unless modifi ed by this Part. 11、 C22.2 No. 4248.1UL 4248-1. 1.1 Scope 1.1.2 These requirements cover fuseholders intended for use with Class H Fuses as described in NMX-J-009/248/6-2000-ANCE, CSA C22.2 No. 248.6, UL 248-6, Low-Voltage Fuses Part 6: Class H Non-Renewable; and NMX-J-009/248/7-2000-ANCE,CSA C22.2 No. 248.7, UL 248-7,

12、 Low-Voltage Fuses Part 7: Class H Renewable Fuses. 4 Classifi cation 4.1 Class H fuseholders have a short-circuit withstand rating of 10,000 A. Class H fuseholders are rated 250 V or 600 V, and are divided into six body sizes in each voltage rating corresponding to the Class H fuse body sizes. 5 Ch

13、aracteristics 5.1 Summary of characteristics 5.1.3 Voltage and current rating 5.1.3.1 Class H fuseholders shall be rated 250 or 600 V. 5.1.3.2 Class H fuseholders shall be rated 30, 60, 100, 200, 400, or 600 A . 5.1.4 Withstand rating 5.1.4.1 Class H fuseholders shall have a short-circuit withstand

26、IDE DISTRIBUTION 8 Tests 8.1 General 8.1.1 Types of tests 8.1.1.1.1 Each fuseholder shall be subjected to the tests as specifi ed in Part 1. 8.4 Verifi cation of temperature rise 8.4.3 Test method 8.4.3.1 With dummy fuses in place and carrying rated current continuously, the temperature on a materia

27、l or component or electrical insulation shall not exceed the values in Table 8.4B. 8.4.3.2 Dummy fuses shall be unplated copper and shall conform to the dimensions in Table 8.4A. 8.4.3.3 The temperatures specifi ed in Table 8.4B are based on an assumed ambient temperature of 25C (77F). A test may be

28、 conducted at an ambient temperature within the range of 20 40C (68 104F). 8.4.3.4 During a test conducted at an ambient temperature of 25C (77F), an observed temperature shall not exceed the required value specifi ed in Table 8.4B. 8.4.3.5 If a test is conducted at an ambient temperature other than

29、 25C (77F), an observed temperature shall be corrected as described in Clause 8.4.3.6. Neither a corrected temperature nor an observed temperature shall exceed the required value specifi ed in Table 8.4B. 8.4.3.6 An observed temperature shall be corrected by addition if the ambient temperature is lo

30、wer than 25C (77F) or subtraction (if the ambient temperature is higher than 25C) of the difference between 25C and the ambient temperature. 8.4.3.7 If a corrected temperature exceeds the required value specifi ed in Table 8.4B, at the request of the manufacturer, the test may be repeated at an ambi
