Summary of Topics The preface of the f
5、i rst edition of UL 1696, the common CSA and UL (binational) standard for Nonmetallic Mechanical Protection Tubing (NMPT), is being revised to extend the UL effective date from September 18, 2006 to September 16, 2009. UL Standards for Safety are developed and maintained in the Standard Generalized
6、Markup Language (SGML). SGML - an international standard (ISO 8879-1986) - is a descriptive markup language that describes a documents structure and purpose, rather than its physical appearance on a page. Due to formatting differences resulting from the use of ULs new electronic publishing system, p
7、lease note that additional pages (on which no requirements have been changed) may be included in revision pages due to relocation of existing text and reformatting of the Standard. The following table lists the revised future effective date with the corresponding item. Future Effective DateReference

Please note that the UL and CSA versions of this Standard are identical with the exception of the title page and the newly revised preface. As

UL provides this Standard as is without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including but not l
