3、for Commercial-Industrial Gas Burners, UL 295, covering commercial-industrial gas burners with input ratings over 400,000 Btu per hour (117.23 kW). BACKGROUND At the STP 296 meeting held in October 2005, UL discussed its intentions to develop UL 295, the Standard for Commercial-Industrial Gas Burner
4、s. This document represents this development effort. RATIONALE Proposal submitted by Travis Hardin, UL. The main intent of developing UL 295 is to enable burner assemblies to be evaluated independent of the main appliance. Also, it is believed that UL 295 would serve to focus the scopes of UL 795 an
5、d UL 2096, and reduce confusion that AHJs and industry members might experience regarding these products. Currently, gas burners are covered by the Standard for Commercial-Industrial Gas Heating Equipment, UL 795, and the Standard for Commercial/Industrial Gas and/or Oil-Burning Assemblies With Emis
6、sion Reduction Equipment, UL 2096. Further, gas-oil burners are covered by UL 795 and the Standard for Oil Burners, UL 296. UL 795 and UL 2096 are equipment standards that may be too broad and confusing to AHJs and certain members of industry. While the majority of these requirements are based upon
7、existing requirements in UL 296, UL 795 and UL 2096, there are some new requirements as well. Paragraphs 28.1.10, 28.2.4, 28.3.4, 35.15, and 37.3 are requirements for components of commercial-industrial gas burners that were not previously contained in UL 296, UL 795, and UL 2096. 9、a new marking requirement for burner assemblies intended to be installed with a remote independent control panel. Paragraph 62.18 is a new marking requirement for burners whose main gas pressure regulator is located downstream from the automatic safety shutoff valve(s). These requirements are intend
10、ed to address new technology and issues that have arisen in the fi eld that were not previously considered. Finally, Table 32.1, and paragraphs 32.4.1, 57.2.1, and 57.3.1 address ignition systems used in conjunction with solid state ignition modules. Solid-state ignition system requirements were not
