4、and Similar Appliances, UL 60335-2-8. UL announces the effective date schedule for compliance with the requirements specified in the Fifth Edition of the Standard for Safety for Household and Similar Electrical Appliances, Part 2: Particular Requirements for Shavers, Hair Clippers, and Similar Appli
5、ances, UL 60335-2-8, that was published on October 28, 2004. UL recognizes that compliance with UL 60335-2-8 may have a significant impact on some products presently Listed in accordance with the requirements in UL 1028. Therefore, the effective date schedule was developed to give manufacturers time
6、 to integrate potential changes into their products or allow other products to go out of production. Products presently Listed can retain Listing to UL 1028 until UL 1028 is withdrawn. However, products may also be submitted for investigation in accordance with UL 60335-2-8. To retain Listing after
7、UL 1028 is withdrawn, products currently Listed to UL 1028 will require review and possible retest to determine compliance with UL 60335-2-8. 8、ption of submitting products to UL 1028 or UL 60335-2-8. Existing products Listed or Recognized to UL 1028 may retain their Listing or Recognition. Unless requested by the manufacturer in writing to submit to UL 1028, all new and revised products and constructions will be investigated to UL 60335-2-
9、8. Existing products Listed or Recognized under UL 1028 may retain their Listing or Recognition. All products must comply with UL 60335-2-8. The Standard, UL 1028, will be withdrawn.
