How do you understand vocabulary and grammar?_ Wilkins (1972) pointed out, “Without grammar very little can be conveyed; without vocabulary nothing can be conveyed.” He testifies vocabulary is more important than grammar. But in my te

4、aching, I found vocabulary is as import as grammar. In our daily teaching, I found many students fail in learning English as they can not remember so many new words. On the other hand, I also found many students can have a good memory in English words but they also fail as they are confused to use t

5、he grammar. _3. How do you define language knowledge and language use?_ In my opinion, language knowledge should refer to its history and development, its slangs, dialects, idioms, the informal and formal language. Language use refers to how to apply language knowledge appropriately in different sit

6、uation. _4. What are your difficulties in dealing with language knowledge and language use?_ Frankly speaking, as my language knowledge is limited, I cannot choose the standard vocabulary and sentences to express my ideas in different situation in my real life. For example, when I speak, I cannot sp

7、eak as fluently as the natives, when I write, I cannot write as appropriately as them. _5. What is the best way, in your opinion, in which you solve practical problems in your classroom teaching?_ In my classroom teaching, I found many students failing in learning English. The most reason is that th

8、ey dont know how to learn so many new words in each Unit. So I try to teach them vocabulary by phonetics, morphology and semantics. Talking about preferences.7RevisionTASK 4REPORT YOUR INQUIRY WORKREPORT YOUR INQUIRY WORK英语作为一个完整的语言知识体系,要想学好它不是一件一劳永逸的容易事。作为一个英语教师,除了自身要掌握英语学科知识,还要把这些知识传授给学生,可谓是难上加难。一门语言,不论对于教师还是学生,我认为最关键的是在于对语言的把握和运用。在刚开始教学的时候,我最关注的是基本教学任务的完成,是否在本节课中讲完了要讲的知识点,是否对知识点讲解到位。但是这样的结果往往是学生只

15、是理解,不会在实际生活中运用,不能够用学到的英语来表达自己。所以我现在越来越关注的是学生对语言的应用能力。在课堂上我会尽量地少讲,多给学生一些时间,为学生创设各种情景,引导学生跟老师对话,学生与学生对话;为学生创设话题,让学生自由发挥。英语语言能力的培养是一个漫长的过程,在今后的教学中要更多地关注学生的语言运用和表达能力。参加PCK培训使我受益匪浅,感慨良多。要成为一名优秀的英语教师,不能仅仅满足于英语知识的提高,应该是个多面手,丰富的中西方文化知识、幽默诙谐的语言,风趣的教学风格,音乐与美术素质的提高,灵活的教学机智,我必须要在自身素质上狠下功夫。既要师承前人,又要积极创新;既要修养自我,又要影响学生。_5
