11、s hidden behind walls. Garbage cans are often of little use, making cleaners must rush all day long and also by night to clean the rubbish. To make things worse, as a result of modernization, pollution is a serious problem. Nowadays we often breathe the dusty air and drink the dirty water. Whats mor

12、e, we always suffer from the noise and the heavy light pollution. Im really tired of this life. I want to change it. If I have a chance, I will get up early to see the suise, in order to embrace our nature. As far as Im concerned, our nature is our mother. She offers us everything we want or need. I

The seismicity, seismism or seismic activity of an area refers to the frequency, type and size of earthquakes experienced over a period of time. At the Earths surface, ear

15、thquakes manifest themselves by shaking and sometimes displacement of the ground. When the epicenter of a large earthquake is located offshore, the seabed may be displaced sufficiently to cause a tsunami. Earthquakes can also trigger landslides, and occasionally volcanic activity. In its most genera

16、l sense, the word earthquake is used to describe any seismic event whether natural or caused by humans that generates seismic waves. Earthquakes are caused mostly by rupture of geological faults, but also by other events such as volcanic activity, landslides, mine blasts, and nuclear tests. An earth

17、quakes point of initial rupture is called its focus or hypocenter. The epicenter is the point at ground level directly above the hypocenter. As we can see with our naked eyes, the air, the earth and the water have all been polluted because of the rapid but irregular

29、 development of industries. So here comes the question: are we still going to live in a world like this? Of course not. 30、2> Rainbow彩虹 A rainbow is an optical and meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. It takes the form of a multicolored arc. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the se

31、ction of sky directly opposite the sun. In a "primary rainbow", the arc shows red on the outer part and violet on the inner side. This rainbow is caused by light being refracted (bent) when entering a droplet of water, then reflected inside on the back of the droplet and refracted again wh

32、en leaving it. In a double rainbow, a second arc is seen outside the primary arc, and has the order of its colors reversed, red facing toward the other one in both rainbows. This second rainbow is caused by light reflecting twice inside water droplets. Thunder Thunder is the sound caused by lightnin

33、g. Depending on the distance and nature of the lightning, thunder can range from a sharp, loud crack to a long, low rumble (brontide). The sudden increase in pressure and temperature from lightning produces rapid expansion of the air surrounding and within a bolt of lightning. In turn, this expansio

34、n of air creates a sonic shock wave, similar to a sonic boom, which produces the sound of thunder, often referred to as a clap, crack, or peal of thunder. The distance of the lightning can be calculated by the listener based on the time interval from when the lightning is seen to when the sound is h

35、eard.The cause of thunder has been the subject of centuries of speculation and scientific inquiry. The first recorded theory is attributed to the Greek philosopher Aristotle in the third century BC, and an early speculation was that it was caused by the collision of clouds.
