1、Lesson Pla n In terpretatio n NSEFC Bookl Un it5 Nels on Man dela a modern hero Hello, everyone! It am honor for me to stand here and interpret my lesson. The lesson I am going to talk about is from NSEFC Book1 Unit5 Nelson Mandela a modern hero. I Explain how to teach and why do so from the followi

2、ng 5 aspects: the theoretical basis, understanding of the teaching material, teachi ng methods and studying ways, teaching procedure and blackboard design. 1. The theoretical ideology First, I dike to show my theoretical ideology. The new-curriculum teaching advocates high quality te aching and focu

3、ses on students overall development. So in this class teaching should be student-centered an d help students to make a progress in writing which aims to test if the students have mastered what they h ave learned. Writing is a higher stage of language learning. The teacher should frequently give stud

4、ents so me assignments of writing. Only in this way, can students use what they have learned more freely. 2. Understanding of the teaching material My understanding of the teaching material includes 3 parts: the status and the function, teaching obje ctives, the important and difficult points. At th

5、e beginning, let focus on the first part. The teaching material is the writing task of unit 5, bo ok 1, NESCF. This unit mainly discusses the modern heroes and teaches the students how to make a corre ct comment of the heroes. the purpose of this part is for Ss to use their personal knowledge about

6、people i n their area. They can describe a person who they think is a great person because of what this person doe s for the community. Then they begin to write an article about the hero in their hearts for a newspaper. That all for the first part, now let move to the second part. According to the t

7、eaching material an d the New Curriculum of English, in order to fulfill the learning task of this lesson, I establish the followi ng objectives: a) Knowledge aims: Get the students to learn and master the new words and useful expressions: leader, president, anti, anti-b lack, sentence, sincerely, s

8、et up, be sentenced to Get the students to know the structure of a persuasion passage and writing steps. b) Ability aims: Develop the students writing ability. Get the students to learn how to write a good summary and anticle for a newspaper. c) Emotional aims: Enable the students to master writing

9、skills and write excellent articles. Motivate the students to learn good qualities from great people. Well, so much for the teaching objectives, lets come to deal with the third part: the important points and the difficult points. According to the national curriculum of English and language learning

10、 theory, whe n teaching writing, we should develop the students Writing ability by writing a summary and an article for a newspaper. And get the students to learn how to write a good article for a newspaper. 3. Teaching methods and studying ways That all for my understanding of the teaching material

11、. Now let focus on the ways of teaching and le arning. Generally speaking, I adopt task-based language teaching and communicative approach in my class. I will use computer and blackboard as my teaching aids. 4. Teaching procedure Here comes the most important part, the teaching procedure. It include

12、s 4steps: Step 1 Lead in; Step 2 Using words and expressions; Step 3 Make an outline for structure; Step 4 Writing Step 1 Lead in Now let come to the first step. I will use a question to lead in today topic: would you like to sh are the top five heroes in your mind with class? Then I will organize a

13、 discussion: four in a group to disc uss the way we describe one person. Step 2 using words and expressions In this step I will first ask the Ss to finish the passage on Page 70 with the questionwhat dose th e passage talk about? Then ask the Ss to choose the words or expressions from the brackets t

14、o complete th e passage. In order to tell them: as a good writer, he may vary words to express something better. And m ake them understand picking of proper words is very important. Thirdly, let the Ss understand this importance of the proper words, I let them finish the translation w ork on Page 70

15、 by using the following words and phrases- as a matter of fact; in trouble; out of work; c ome to power; advise; lose heart; be sentenced to; willing; set up; continue. Last but not the least, tell the Ss to remember: words and phrases are the bricks of the house or the muscles and blood of the body

16、. So collecting more words is a way to write a beautiful passage. Step 3 Make an outline for structure Firstly, let the Ss go back to the passage and ask them to give more information about the mathemat ician: when and where was he born? What happened in his childhood? And what happened later? Secon

17、dly, analysis every paragraph by using some questions which aims to make the Ss have a better understanding of the structures of the passage. Thirdly, I will use a discuss to let the Ss understand how to make an outline for the passage. Step 4 writing In the last step, I will ask the Ss to finish th

18、e writing task on Page 70: Suppose the magazine “ Glob al People ” begins its annual activity of choosing the top ten great men in 20th century. Will you write a l etter to support Nelson Mandela? I will review the format of a letter and give them some tips to finish this task. 1. Collect your ideas

19、 for the letters. Write them down in any order. Then sort them out into an orde r which seems good to you. For example: time order, we can have a reference on Page39. 2. Begin the letter with your address and the date. At last, I will give Ss some homework finish the letter and review the whole unit.
