He urged Mr. Jones to challenge himself. Through years of hard work, Mr. Jones overcame his stuttering by practicin

20、g poetry, public speaking and acting. Although it was a hard road, he was able to break through. Now Mr. Jones has become one of the greatest actors in American history. And his voice is one of the most well-known ones in the world. Without his hard work and a teacher who believed in him, Star Wars,

C To wave or not to wave is a topic Im exploring for quite some time because Ive seen geography come into play during my time living and running around the country. In the Midwest where I grew up, it was customary to greet everyone with a smile, a wave, or some other

25、 friendly forms. But it wasnt until I moved to Boston that my friendly forms were met with no response from runners along the Charles River. At first I would try to catch someones eye and say hello. But then, not wanting to destroy their personal thinking time, I backd off and would carefully wait f

California was a mixed bag because there are so many immigrants(移民)that a runners preference for waving greatly relies one where he/she comes from. In the suburbs, it was much more common than in the city. But now that were living in Oregon, I decide

27、 to reuse the wave during my running. As a loyal pro-waver, I think the mid-run wave is an unspoken conversation about the beautiful scenery. More importantly, its a small gesture but has large meaning. Just the other day, I overheard a gentleman practicing his Spanish. I held the front door for him

28、 as we were leaving, and he said, “Gracias!” “De nada,”I said with a smile. He nodded, laughed and said, “Have a good day!” It was a 15-second exchange, but I think we were both happy on the day. They are designed to celebrate the role of women in society and to make us think about the progress that has been made, but also abou
