7、he English language version of EN 60423:1994 Conduits for electrical purposes Outside diameters of conduits for electrical installations and threads for conduits and fittings published by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). It is derived by CENELEC from IEC 423:199

8、3 published by International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The CENELEC common modifications have been implemented at the appropriate places in the text and are indicated by a sideline in the margin. The original IEC text that has been modified by CENELEC is quoted in National annex NA. The fore

9、word of the European Standard makes reference to the “ date of withdrawal” , dow, of the relevant national standard. In this case the relevant national standard is BS 6053:1981 which will be withdrawn on 1995-07-01. Certificates and marks will not be awarded after this date with respect to the withd

10、rawn British Standard. However such certificates and marks, already awarded, may continue to apply to production until 2000-07-01. The introduction refers to IEC 614-2 and IEC 1035-2 as being helpful in determining the material and wall thickness. IEC 614-2 is identical with the following British St

11、andard: BS 6099 Conduits for electrical installations Part 2: Particular specifications Section 2.2:1982 Specification for rigid plain conduits of insulating material Additional information. 23、 TC 113, Cable management, was submitted to the Unique Acceptance Procedure and approved by CENELEC as EN 60423 on 4 October 1994. This European Standard supersedes HD 393 S1:1979. The folowing dates were fixed. For products which have complied with HD 393 S1:1979 before 1995-07-01, as shown by the

24、manufacturer or by a certification body, this previous standard may continue to apply for production until 2000-07-01. Annexes designated “ normative” are part of the body of the standard. 29、mance of the threadable parts of the conduit system will be a function of material and wall thickness which is specified in the appropriate product standard (IEC 1035-2 or IEC 614-2). 1 Scope This International Standard specifies outside diameters for conduits used in electrical installations and th

30、e dimensional requirements for threads. It also specifies the dimensional requirements for threads used in associated fittings. It is not applicable to extra-heavy duty rigid steel conduits specified in IEC 981. 2 Normative references NOTENormative references to international publications are listed

31、 in Annex ZA (normative). 3 Outside diameters and threads The outside diameters, tolerances and details of external and internal metric threads are given in Table 1. Details of the thread form are given in Figure 1, which is based on ISO 68. 4 Gauges Details of gauges for checking the maximum outsid

32、e diameter of conduits are given in Figure 2. For the minimum outside diameters of conduits, details are given in Figure 3a and Figure 3b. The dimensions of gauges for checking external threads are given in Table 2, and these are in accordance with ISO 1502. The types of gauges are shown in Figure 4

33、. The dimensions of gauges for checking internal threads are given in Table 3, and these are in accordance with ISO 1502.
