Additional information on supplementary properties for certain applications is also given. 2 Normative references This European Standard incorporates, by dated or

37、d panels Characteristic values for established products 3 Definition For the purposes of this standard the following definition applies. plywood for use in exterior conditions Plywood used in unprotected external applications, as defined in hazard class 3 of EN 335-3. It is capable of withstanding e

38、xposure to weathering conditions and liquid water or water vapour in a damp but ventilated location, where it can have a moisture content frequently above 20 %. 4 Requirements 4.1 Tolerances on dimensions The tolerances on dimensions shall be as specified in EN 315. 4.2 Bonding quality The bonding q

39、uality shall comply with the requirements of bonding class 3 of EN 314-2. 4.3 Biological durability Plywood shall be appropriate for prevailing climatic conditions. The risk of attack is outlined in hazard class 3 of EN 335-3. Guidance on factors affecting durability and on precautionary measures wh

40、ich may be considered necessary can be found in prENV 1099 and in EN 335-3. 4.4 Mechanical characteristics 4.4.1 General The mechanical properties of plywood for use in exterior conditions shall be determined according to their application. For structural application, refer to 4.4.2, and for non-str

41、uctural application, refer to 4.4.3. 4.4.2 Structural application The characteristic values of the mechanical properties shall either be taken from prEN 12369 or shall be determined according to EN 1058. The bending properties shall be used to identify the plywood in accordance with EN 1072. 4.4.3 N

42、on-structural application Bending properties may be determined on small test pieces in accordance with EN 310. 4.5 Formaldehyde release The formaldehyde release class, A, B or C, shall be expressed as specified in EN 1084. 5 Supplementary properties For certain applications, information on some supp

43、lementary properties can be required. Some of these supplementary properties are listed in table A.1. On request, this information should be provided by the supplier. ? 47、on) as a statistical basis, when they are implemented. These properties shall be determined according to the European Standards listed in table A.1. If there is no European Standard available, the method used shall be fully described in the test report. 6 Verification of compliance 6.1 General Verif

48、ication of compliance with this European Standard shall be carried out using the test methods listed in table 1. 6.2 External control External control of the factory, if any, shall be carried out according to a statistical basis.1) Inspection of consignments, if any, shall be carried out acording to

49、 a statistical basis.1) In the case of formaldehyde release, however, for both external control and inspection of a consignment of panels, the respective requirement set out in EN 1084 shall be met by the average value of at least three boards controlled.
