Common Name: glyphosate 1.1 The word “g

2、lyphosate” (pronounced gli-f-ste) has been accepted as the American National Standard Common Name for the chemical N(phosphonomethy1) glycine. 1.2 Acceptance signifies compliance with American National Standard Procedure for the Acceptance of an American National Standard Common Name for a Pest Cont

3、rol Chemical, K62.1-1968. 2. Use of Common Name 2.1 The common name applies to the 100% pure chem- ical. 2.2 Technical grades and formulations shall indicate the percentage of glyphosate present; for example, gly- phosate-92% typical. 2.3 The Sponsor of the common name “glyphosate” has agreed to rel

4、ease and permit the use of the name Name furnished upon request. “glyphosate” with respect to any product, whether or not manufactured or formulated by it, which contains a pest control chemical conforming to the description set forth in this American National Standard. 3. Limitations Neither the Am

5、erican National Standards Institute nor its committee guarantees or assumes any responsibility that use of this name in connection with this or any other chemical or product will not infringe on or con- flict with any existing proprietary name, trademark, or trade name. Approval as an American Natio

6、nal Stan- dard Common Name constitutes recowition by the Standards Institute that a consensus exists within a rep- resentative committee, operating under Institute pro- cedures and basing its recommendation on data sub- mitted by a Sponsor, favoring consideration of the use of the name to designate

7、the pest control chemical de- scribed herein by all interested persons. The informa- tion concerning the chernical and physical properties of the chemical is not a part of the standard but is pro- vided solely as an aid to identification, and the Stan- dards Institute does not guarantee its accuracy

8、. Ths material is reproduced fro Cir- sium, Convolvulus, Imperata, Amaranthus, Mikania, Polygonum, Euphorbia, and many others. Postemergence- directed sprays can be used for weed control in tree and bush crops and, in certain cases, in agronomic crops such as soybeans and cotton. Most applications a

9、re made in cropping areas prior to planting or postharvest. Industrial uses include control of weeds along roadsides, waterways, transmission lines, in storage areas, and in other nonagricultural areas. Rate of application varies from 1/4 pound per acre for annual-type weeds up to 4 pounds per acre

10、for certain perennial-type weeds.
