The standard ratio of inside width to inside height is in principle 4 : 1. For some types of waveguides given in this specification this ratio has n

8、ot been observed because a different value of the ratio was already in extensive use. 1.2 Deviation on inside width and height. Deviations for the inside width and heights are in principle 1/1000 of the internal width. 1.3 Theoretical attenuation. The values given in the tables are based on a figure

9、 for the resistivity of copper equivalent to 1.7241 1087 m and apply to a frequency equal to 1.5fc. For the general case attenuation is given by the following formula: in which = resistivity of inside non-magnetic wall metal, o= resistivity of copper = 1.7241 1087 m, a = inside width in millimetres,

10、 b = inside height in millimetres, fc= cut off frequency for Hol (TEol) mode =GHz, f = frequency at which the attenuation is to be calculated. BS 3839, Oxygen-free high conductivity copper for electronic valves and semi-conductor devices. 4 Ordering information Orders for waveguides conforming to the requirements of this specification shall contain the following information, in accordance with the requirement

14、s of 1.1.15 of BS 9220. 1) BS number of this detail specification. 2) Reference code (see 1.1.6.2 of BS 9220:1971). 3) Piece length. 5 Certified test records The CTR, as issued at 6-monthly intervals, will contain attributes information for all subgroup A2 tests. In addition, the CTR will contain me

15、asurements information for all Group D tests. 6 Test schedule The sample size for the Group D inspection of each class of material shall be one tube, 1 m (3 ft 3 in) long, selected at random for each of the approval ranges of sizes listed below: Ranges of sizes Range 1.
