9、semi-trailers for extra heavy duty. NOTE 1A fifth wheel king pin for attachment to semi-trailers for normal and heavy duty is covered in BS AU 1, “Dimensions of 2 2+ in diameter fifth wheel king pin for use with semi-trailers”. The clearance dimensions and fifth wheel positions are given in BS AU 3,
10、 “Clearance dimensions and fifth wheel positions for tractors and semi-trailers”. NOTE 2The values specified in imperial units are to be regarded as the standard. 2 Dimensions and tolerances 2.1 Dimensions. The dimensions of the fifth wheel king pin shall be as shown in Figure 1. All burrs and sharp
11、 edges shall be removed. NOTEIt is recommended that fifth wheel couplings used with this king pin be marked with their maximum imposed weight-carrying capacity. 2.2 Tolerances. The tolerance on machining shall be 0.010 in (0.25 mm) or as otherwise stated in Figure 1. NOTEAll dimensions are in inches
