28、Standard. The following requirements shall be measured under tension: linear density; lay. The tension to be used for measurements of the ropes shall be as defined in EN 919. 4 Manufacture 4.1 Constituent materials 4.1.1 Natural fibres (see EN 698) The constituent yarns of the strands shall be made

29、exclusively of new manila in the case of manila ropes and new sisal in the case of sisal ropes, with an approximate density of: manila : 1,35 kg/dm3, in accordance with EN 698; sisal : 1,35 kg/dm3, in accordance with EN 698; hemp: in accordance with EN 1261. 4.1.2 Man-made fibres Apart from any iden

The rope yarns shall not contain fibres which have been used or recovered. 4.2 Construction Unless otherwise specified, 3-strand or 4-strand laid ropes shall be Z twist (right-hand lay), see Table

31、 2 their strands S twist and their roping yarns Z twist. 8-strand plaited ropes shall consist of two pairs of S twist strands and two pairs of Z twist strands arranged so that S twist pairs alternate with Z twist pairs. Each strand shall consist of an equal number of rope yarns sufficient to provide

32、 the characteristics specified in the standards dealing with each fibre (see clause 2). 4.3 Structure The ropes and their strands shall be continuous, without splice. This treatment shall ensure that subsequent shr

35、inkage in use shall be minimal. The ropes shall be supplied in their natural state, i.e. without any impregnation or coating treatment, except at the purchasers request, they may be coated or impregnated to establish particular characteristics. The treatment applied shall not reduce the tensile stre

The increase in mass of the rope due to the treatment shall not exceed 5 % of the mass of the rope in its natural state. 4.4.2 Polypropylene and polyethylene ropes The polypropylene rope

Any ultra-violet (UV) inhibiting system may be used, such as pigmentation using carbon black, iron (III) oxide (Fe2 O3) or any other colouring product or special inhibitor. 43、01:1995 BSI 03-19995 6 Requirements The main requirements of the fibre ropes are: a) linear density; b) tensile strength (minimum breaking force); c) reference number; d) lay length (for 3-strand and 4-strand ropes or plait pitch for 8-strand plaited ropes). These requirements are specified in the s

44、tandards dealing with each fibre (see clause 2). The corresponding methods of test are given in EN 919. NOTEOther requirements, for example the diameter of the circumscribed circle and the elongation of the rope under specific tensile conditions, may be specified, subject to agreement between the ma

If a tape is used, it shall be at least 3 mm wide, and shall be printed with the reference number of this European Standard, and a reference identifying the manufacturer. The maximum dist

47、ance between two consecutive markings shall be 1 m. If a yarn is used, it shall be of the same size as the roping yarns comprising the rope, and of the same material as the rope. It shall be used in substitution for one of the roping yarns in the rope. Alternatively, it may be a finer yarn than thos

In this case, the marker yarn may be of a different material to that of the rope. 7.2 Ropes of reference number less than 8 These do not need to be marked. 7.3 Ropes of reference number from 8 up to but n

49、ot including 24 A marker yarn of a size smaller than the roping yarns or a tape shall be incorporated either into the centre or onto the outside of a strand. 7.4 Ropes of reference number greater than or equal to 24 One strand of each rope shall contain within it either: a) a marker tape; or b) a transparent or white tape printed only with the name of the manufacturer together with a marker yarn.
